2 out of 5 eggsConstantly reboots.

Pros: Sleek design, brilliant interface

Cons: Drops connection multiple times per day, gets extremely hot, no longevity and no support unless you feel like breaking out your credit/debit card.

Other Thoughts: This router worked like a champ for about a year or so but for the past year it has started rebooting itself randomly and the frequency of these incidents has increased. I have finally exhausted all trouble shooting and just purchased another router. The quality of Linksys' equipment has been on a decline for years and I have had enough. It's time to look for greener pastures.

5 out of 5 eggsNot a Current Model but . . .

Pros: Good signal strength easy setup for novices as well as pros. Version can be flashed with DD-WRT firmare. Reliable.

Cons: It's Linksys, no it's Cisco, no it's Linksys. Serious case of identity issues with Cisco. Version 2 is not supported by 3rd party firmware. The version one has a Broadcom chip which is very flash friendly, version 2 has a Marvell chip which is not. Not a current model so price asked is ridiculous

Other Thoughts: I got this unit when a client dumped it after using a Comcast modem/router. Range is better than my D-link D655 but just slightly poorer than a Comcast box. Seems reliable and worked for 2 years for my client without a hitch. DD-WRT firmware works for version one but can be tricky to install. Streaming and gaming are handled just fine. Vendors charging a premium for this is criminal - its good but not that good.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: served the purpose as a router, but does not allow for medium end routing

I had trouble with the limit of port forwarding functions, never forwarded correctly. also limit of only 10 ports.

should work for every day use.
average wifi range

I since moved on for this router

Cons: does not allow for wireless AP when connected via LAN. Cisco only instructs to use as a AP when connected via WAN, which is silly if you want all connected devices to be on your LAN.

4 out of 5 eggsA solid performer

Pros: This router is very good for the 2.4 GHz band with extra range compared to typical routers. Has a very stable stock firmware that can easily work just fine for the majority of users. V1 also supports custom firmware if you are into customization or adding features not included in stock firmware.

Cons: Custom firmware is somewhat of a mixed bag. Not as many hackers support this hardware and those that do tend to get one thing right and one thing wrong between builds e.g. either wireless being buggy or some other feature being toned down or whatnot. It's a russian roulette with these firmwares.

Other Thoughts: Stick to stock if all you want is a good wireless router with no frills that won't fail you if you are into wireless gaming. Custom firmware is also great but the few that support it either dropped it or tend to break features between build and build.

3 out of 5 eggsThe Monster Cable of Routers - Looks great but doesn't work better than routers that cost 1/10th the price

Pros: The wired component works as expected, wireless speeds are pretty good. Slim profile means it'll fit almost anywhere

Cons: Wireless range is disappointing. I live in a 650 sq ft apartment. Router is in the living room and it has trouble delivering seamless wi fi to the other rooms. Just imagine living in an actual house!

Had to do a factory reset when it stopped functioning after 2 years. Seems to be okay now, time will tell.

Other Thoughts: The only advantage this router has is its slim profile and looks, if you care about that. Otherwise the wireless range and software instabilities make it inferior to Linksys' own workhorse, the WRT54GL, which I owned for a long time. If I hadn't given the 54GL to Goodwill, I would have swapped it back in.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy to setup

Cons: Lasted little past 2 years. Expected a higher priced, name brand router to last longer than 2 years. Have to power cycle once a week now.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked great for about 6 months

Cons: After the first 6 months, the router would be on but I couldn't connect to it and all connections would drop. It was completely random whether or not a reboot would work. Would usually have to leave it unplugged for hours at a time before plugging it back in for it to work for a few more hours.

Other Thoughts: Not recommended

1 out of 5 eggsHighly dissappointed - Not worth the money

Pros: Pros: Easy to setup and manage

Cons: Cons: Router would lock up and not move traffic after watching a streaming movie.
Router would not allow traffic to be seen across network until I rebooted.
Router died due to corrupted the firmware and network is not visible when I rebooted the router. Linksys will not replace or tell me a way to serial connect into router to fix firmware.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy this router. It is definately not something I would recommend.

3 out of 5 eggsGood for first year

Pros: Very fast.

Cons: Died after 1 year. 1 month after the warranty had expired.

Other Thoughts: All I can say is that is was great until it died. Being that it died after 1 year, I could not give it more than 3 eggs. It's a great router if you get it for a full life span, but I've read this same complaint over and over again. I would look elsewhere. Also, I used to think Linksys had the best and easiest configuration interface, but I have since seen better.
