5 out of 5 eggsNo worries

Pros: Easy set up as long as you read the directions. Fast and never drops a connection.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this in 6/12 for $79.99 here. Now I see it is available via 3rd party for $169.95. Glad I bought it when I did.

3 out of 5 eggsPass.

Pros: Low profile, does its job.

Cons: The way this cooler is shaped, the heatsink extends FAR over your memory slots. I had to orient the heatsink differently then what (i think?) it was supposed to be oriented to make it clear my normal height muskin ram on the outside 2 ram slots. This could make this unusable for motherboards that stagger their dual channel memory slot placement.

Second thing, is the mounting nuts (1155 slot) once you get those nuts on the back of the motherboard, because of the way the retention screws are designed, there's NO WAY to loosen the nuts off. The retention screws just spin indefinitely in the mounting bracket. The ONLY way to get the nuts off is to completely remove the whole motherboard and use vice grips to hold the mounting screws in place whal you loosen the nuts off the back. UNACCEPTABLE, poor, poor design coming from such a reputable company.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to upgrade a CPU and had a VERY VERY hard time trying to get this heatsink off the motherboard. Ive worked with literally hundreds of HS/FAN combos, this was the most infuriating unit i have ever encountered. I dont do many reviews but i feel its my place to warn you guys about this.

1 out of 5 eggsuseless

Pros: none

Cons: Setup software incomparable with Mac OS 10.8. No updated software on sisco website. No guidelines for manual setup.

4 out of 5 eggsHad some bumps before working

Pros: Getting about 8 megabits per second on wired LAN.

Getting about 3 megabits per second on wireless LAN.

Has DHCP reservation for having a static IP to certain machines.

Cons: -none so far

Other Thoughts: I just had to call tech support because my LAN was working but my internet wasn't. The problem was my modem wasn't broadcasting the right IP number.

Also, when they tell you to unplug your modem and replug it. My modem (Arris modem) wasn't going off because I have a battery in my modem. This was the problem, Cisco tech support helped me unplug that battery. Once that happen my modem was broadcasting the right IP.

So, if you're having problems this might be a solution for you. I was out of ideas on how to fix it, and i'm glad I called in. My tech knowledge is pretty high for things like this, but I needed help.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's a go and stop

Pros: Like the design looks sleek easy to install

Cons: The connection seems to be a go and stop it works most of the time but there are times that it just loose the connection, especially on some iphone device the connection just stop and then you have to reconnect again

Other Thoughts: Get a better one out there cant recommend this product

2 out of 5 eggsused to be my first stop

Pros: Was easy to connect. Got the whole house up and running in less than an hour.

Cons: Shipping was way to slow. Customer service just wasn't customer service anymore. Too bad. Newegg used to be great.

Other Thoughts: Six days to go 125 miles. That's pretty bad. No excuse.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Choice

Pros: Looks great. Initial performance is 5/5. Signal strength is much better than my old WRT45GL. Compatability is literally plug and play, setup disc automated most of the setup, took less than 5 minutes to get the router online. So far, performance is flawless.

Cons: although I didn't look too closely it doesn't appear to be easily wall mounted. Also doesn't stand up on its side so it has a book sized footprint on the shelf, can't put anything on top of it.

Other Thoughts: So far performance has been flawless, from initial setup to getting online and seeing the speed and connectivity improvement, especially using 802.11n.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great

Cons: I can't connect a printer to it via a lan cable. Your options are AB USB cable or wireless.

Other Thoughts: On the last netgear router I had, you used the wpa2 key as the password for your wireless login, but this one appears to use the password you use to login to the admin section. Careful of that if you try to set this router up manually
