4 out of 5 eggsHad some bumps before working

Pros: Getting about 8 megabits per second on wired LAN.

Getting about 3 megabits per second on wireless LAN.

Has DHCP reservation for having a static IP to certain machines.

Cons: -none so far

Other Thoughts: I just had to call tech support because my LAN was working but my internet wasn't. The problem was my modem wasn't broadcasting the right IP number.

Also, when they tell you to unplug your modem and replug it. My modem (Arris modem) wasn't going off because I have a battery in my modem. This was the problem, Cisco tech support helped me unplug that battery. Once that happen my modem was broadcasting the right IP.

So, if you're having problems this might be a solution for you. I was out of ideas on how to fix it, and i'm glad I called in. My tech knowledge is pretty high for things like this, but I needed help.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's a go and stop

Pros: Like the design looks sleek easy to install

Cons: The connection seems to be a go and stop it works most of the time but there are times that it just loose the connection, especially on some iphone device the connection just stop and then you have to reconnect again

Other Thoughts: Get a better one out there cant recommend this product

2 out of 5 eggsused to be my first stop

Pros: Was easy to connect. Got the whole house up and running in less than an hour.

Cons: Shipping was way to slow. Customer service just wasn't customer service anymore. Too bad. Newegg used to be great.

Other Thoughts: Six days to go 125 miles. That's pretty bad. No excuse.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Rocko,

Thank you for writing us your insights about our product and service. May we get your case number provided by our customer service support? Please allow us to help.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Choice

Pros: Looks great. Initial performance is 5/5. Signal strength is much better than my old WRT45GL. Compatability is literally plug and play, setup disc automated most of the setup, took less than 5 minutes to get the router online. So far, performance is flawless.

Cons: although I didn't look too closely it doesn't appear to be easily wall mounted. Also doesn't stand up on its side so it has a book sized footprint on the shelf, can't put anything on top of it.

Other Thoughts: So far performance has been flawless, from initial setup to getting online and seeing the speed and connectivity improvement, especially using 802.11n.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great

Cons: I can't connect a printer to it via a lan cable. Your options are AB USB cable or wireless.

Other Thoughts: On the last netgear router I had, you used the wpa2 key as the password for your wireless login, but this one appears to use the password you use to login to the admin section. Careful of that if you try to set this router up manually

1 out of 5 eggsNO

Pros: Kind of workes sometimes, but very slow.

Cons: Relaced old cheapo G router because I wanted the extra speed of N and 1000M wired. First one worked about 1 month, but not much faster than old router, before it failed completely. Cisco replaced it quickly, but new one was awful. Speeds slowed to a crawl. Tried to reinstall, reboot all devices, new firmware, etc, speed still sucked. Went back to old 6 yr old cheapo router and all was OK.

I thought I would buy a higher priced name brand to avoid problems. Not a good idea.

Other Thoughts: Software sucks too. Gets hung up. Barely worked. Even software was slooow.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi TG, we are sorry to hear about your experience with the E3200. Have you returned the 2nd router? Also can you provide us the case number given by the support team? We would like to know and give you the necessary assistance that may help resolve your router's technical problem.
Thanks,

5 out of 5 eggsHIghly Satisfied

Pros: Offers the easiest set-up I've ever experienced with a router. Slip in the CD, follow the directions, and -- Viola! -- you're connected. (No need for a wired connection, either.) Choose the next item in your network, whether it's another computer, an iPad or a printer, and keep going. Super simple. In my experience (now three weeks since installation) this router is both fast and stable. Even though most of my equipment is on a different floor from the router, the signal has been fine. I like the guest access option and the USB connection, which I use for an external hard drive.

Cons: No problems to date. For the price, this router has been a worthwhile upgrade.

Other Thoughts: The design is sleek, and I like the absence of annoying flashing lights on the front. I've also found the Linksys support group helpful when I was trying to work out a file sharing issue between computers in my network.
