1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice when you have DD-WRT installed. Also fairly easy to install DD-WRT. Has USB input.

Cons: Runs Very Hot.

Other Thoughts: as suggested by other owners to get a fan and use the USB plug input. took about 3 weeks to order a laptop fan. When I finally added it and thought I would not have to worry about heat issues. The unit died and has not worked since. Perhaps I should not have added the fan?!?! Who knows. I know this.. I spent $55 with the warranty but its a big hassle to get a working router again, when all I wanted it to do was just work. If you don't want the hassle of returning it to a 3rd party in hopes to get a working router again look elsewhere for a router.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Low price makes for a great value. Dual Band. USB port. Easy Setup. WPA2 security. Gigabit Ports. Built-in UPNP AV media server. Offers firmware choice (Linksys, DD-WRT or Tomato).

Cons: Media server transfers are slow, but serves media fine. Router does get warm as many have noted, but hasn't affected performance.

Other Thoughts: My internal network consists of several laptops, a server, 2 desktops, ipad, several ipods, ps3, xbox 360, wii and 3 smartphones. Most of the time there's online gaming going on while media is being streamed between devices. This router handlesit all without issues.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking great

Pros: Running 2 desktops and a laptop most of the time. Sometimes also running 2 smartphones, 2 tablets and a ps3.
I've tested up to 5 devices streaming video at once(1 wired and 4 wireless) and had no problems. I have a 30mbps connection. I haven't tried hooking up a hdd to it and the firmware is stock.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsStay away, even with the price!

Pros: Nice design, all the specs point to a great router, not a terrible default firmware.

Cons: After 45 days DHCP stopped serving IP addresses to wired clients (wireless still worked) and wouldn't connect to Comcast, newest install of Tomato would never get me better than 1Mbps speeds wired/wireless.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Prompt delivery

Cons: Could not get the device to setup with the CD. Could not get 192.168.1.1 to be recognized. Was never functional.

Other Thoughts: Reason for refurbished status obvious but evidently never addressed.

2 out of 5 eggsThought it worked.

Pros: As a dual band AP, it actually works alright.

Cons: The storage/media/DLNA part of the GUI just stopped working. I can't create any more shares, or users, etc. All the fields are greyed out. I tried using different drives, re-flashed the firmware, etc. Same result. If one of the reasons I bought this AP has now stopped functioning, it is officially garbage to me.

Other Thoughts: Despite it being a decent AP, if functions of it that I use it for stop working, it is useless to me. Now I have to spend money again 4 months later to get a new AP. So basically, if you plan to use the storage/media server function of this, DO NOT BUY.

5 out of 5 eggsPowerful and works very well

Pros: Router looks great, works very well right out of the box. Able to handle multiple connections and complicated networks with ease. I installed latest version of Shibby modified tomato firmware and tweaked just a few settings and the router took off. Surpassed my old WRT 54GL with ease! As fas as the heat issue others have commented on I used my old Targus netbook chill pad (bought for $2) usb to the router under it and it helped immensely. You can find many USB chill pads for $3-$2 if you look and any will work fine for it. If you go Tomato firmware route make sure to set channel to Auto and set transmission rate to 0 (variable) to get optimal signal to your wireless devices.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Got to be pretty proficient or study up really well on 3rd party firmware before using DD-WRT or Tomato on it but it is worth it once its done router is incredible running those. Both are good just preference on which one you are used to. If you like having flexibility and tweak settings on the router this is the way to go! Next project with it is to set up a easy guest network for guests on the router.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Router

Pros: This router has been running solid for the past month and the only time I've restarted it was by choice for switching surge protectors. Coming from an older WRT54G that I had for ages I am loving the high speeds.

Cons: None so far. No wireless problems, net dropping, or overheating that I have noticed at all. A minimum of 3 computers connected at any time and almost constantly under medium to heavy network use.

Other Thoughts: Gave this a month before writing a review to see if the issues from the other reviews would come up over time and I am not seeing anything of the sort. I did buy a recertified router so maybe it was repaired with these issues in mind.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!

Pros: Fast, rock-solid. Uses the latest version of Tomato USB.
Currently running 5 computers on wireless, a wired Powerline network, wired VOIP (OBI-110) system, 2 wireless bluray players, and 3 wireless printers simultaneously. Never drops a connection, currently has 70+ days continuous uptime.

Cons: Tends to run hot due to short feet/ poor air flow-- the web is full of straightforward cooling remedies for this model. At least prop up the rear feet. I use a cheap USB powered fan plugged into the router itself.
