1 out of 5 eggsWARNING! Do not buy- read first.

Pros: None in particular. Offers ordinary specs for an average price.

Cons: It does not work well. Frequently disconnects and causes my WIN 7/pro machine to crash. I get a blue screen followed by a forced restart. I looked on line and found that this has been a COMMON PROBLEM for MANY PEOPLE and for a LONG TIME.

Other Thoughts: For those who have already bought this: you don't have restart to reconnect, just unplug and plug back in the device. If the OS crashes become more frequent over time. uninstall and re-installing the drivers may help a bit, but there is no fix. the problem is bad hardware/driver software. Don't bother going to the company, they don't care. There solution is to ignore the complaints, deny the problem, and push forward with the sale of there next generation piece of ripoff junk.

2 out of 5 eggsMany problems

Pros: Good speeds when it works. I've gotten up to 6 megabytes/sec download. (which is right at my ISP cap at 50mbit/s)

Cons: Have to unplug-replug every time I restart PC. Have to go to adapter settings and disable-re-enable every day or so because it drops connection. Tried on different PCs, different routers, different drivers, various device settings. Some people say they fixed the issues by removing the plastic cover, but that didn't work for me.

Other Thoughts: I had a more stable connection with an old wireless G adapter that was no larger than my thumbnail.

2 out of 5 eggsNot worth the price.

Pros: -High performance/speed
-Easy installation

Cons: -Prone to failure
-Runs incredibly hot
-Possibly breaks USB ports?
-Incompatible with certain operating systems

Other Thoughts: I bought this thing about two or three months ago, and I was initially extremely impressed. The speed I got for a USB wireless adapter was incredible. That didn't last long. I first noticed that this wireless stick is entirely incompatible with Ubuntu, my OS of choice. Thankfully I also use Windows 7 as a media/gaming OS, so I could use that instead. However, almost immediately I noticed that when running internet-intensive processes (IE when downloading games or streaming movies/TV for long stretches of time), the adapter would get really hot and then fail completely, requiring me to unplug it, let it cool, and plug it back in. (Having it on the back of my desktop under a desk was a real pain.) As time went by, I noticed it did this more and more often. As of last month it completely shut down the entire USB controller, meaning everything in that set of USB ports would shut down, meaning a full system reboot was necessary. Finally, just today, it died for good. It doesn't work at all. I dropped 60 bucks on it. Being a broke college student, I'm absolutely ecstatic to have something I spent my money on die on me after a couple months. Don't bother with this.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk

Pros: None

Cons: Not easy to install
Issues with Windows 8 driver (none supported)
Drops connections continuously

Other Thoughts: Don't bother with this product. There are better ones on the market. When it does work, works very well. Unfortunately that is not very often. Used this product for a tech project at work. Was able to get it to install with a driver disk in Windows 8. Suspect the issues with the dropped connections might be related to the NIL driver support by linksys and cisco. This product is not that old or the technology that out of date not to be supported for the newer operating systems. I will be very leery about purchasing linksys/cisco products in the future and beleive me I purchase a LOT of tech for our project.

1 out of 5 eggsI don't like this product

Pros: Fast internet access

Cons: Slow wireless LAN.
I've contacted Linksys Tech support a number of times.
And each time they tell me that they either can't or won't help me determine why I only get 12Mb on my wireless LAN.

Linksys: If you're listening ... Help me stay one of your customers. I'm fed up answering useless questions to your support people only to be told that they don't have any idea how to proceed.

2 out of 5 eggsDisconnects often

Pros: Dual band, supports Afterburner, easy installation under Windows 7 x64

Cons: Unit gets very warm when sending large files. Randomly locks up, requiring power cycle or unplug/plugin to correct. Occurs with both XP and Win7. No driver support for XP x64 edition.

Other Thoughts: Have owned two units for more than a year, both of which exhibit the lockup/freezing issue. Happens about once every 1-3 weeks for me. Very annoying. Works under Linux via the Ndiswrapper module.

4 out of 5 eggsso far so good

Pros: -Easy install (used setup wizard, no cd required)
-50+ feet away only 2 bars but still fast enough (streaming/gaming)

Cons: reception (still enough, but should be able to get more out of it)

Other Thoughts: Purchased through Best Buy (sorry Newegg) since prices were the same (victim to instant gratification). Strangely, I noticed the reviews on Newegg were on average very low, while Best Buy reviews were quite high. So far the product is doing what I need it to do.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: It connected?

Cons: And then it disconnected. And over and over again. Wally World's reviewers apparently don't understand technology or don't download things that take more than 5 minutes. Heck, it dropped out once while I was trying to write this review. I get, about 25 feet or less from the router (which is 600 Mbps), 6/.5 mbps max. I pay for 100d/25u. I've oriented it in every way possible, and tried 6 usb ports. I've updated the drivers. It's worthless garbage, as all the other reviews have said. It's sad that Cisco put it's name on it - because they make much better networking products than this.

Other Thoughts: It came with a fancy black package. Nice for returning it in.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk - what everyone says is true

Pros: Sleek design, high quality plastic. Can get high speeds

Cons: Those high speeds can be sustained for only seconds. This thing will randomly disconnect anywhere from every 30 minutes to every 3 hours. Guaranteed any overnight download will screw up. Have to frequently disable/enable or unplug/replug in to get it to connect to networks. WHat everyone says is true. Ive messed with my wifi settings, the location of it, ive used a usb extensions cord to give this thing more reach. Other wireless devices i use in the same exact room have no problem and can sustain high speeds
