1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Product

Pros: works for up 12 months

Cons: poor signal, takes a nose dive after few months of use. continue to disconnect itself and dropping signal. Too much hassle to keep troubleshooting this device.

Other Thoughts: This is the very first time a cisco device let me down.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: Dual band support
Cisco Device :-)

Cons: Manual driver install for Windows.
Hit or miss on Linux. Depends on distro.

Other Thoughts: I picked up 3 of these (they were $3 each). I only needed one, but eventually I will get some free time and bond two of these together for some additional throughput... or just run a data cable to the media center in my bedroom!

Could be my device, environment or other factors.. but I average about 65Mb/s connections with these. Which suffices my needs for streaming HD from my server to XBMC in the master BR. Chokes on larger 1080, but streams 720 with few hiccups.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad

Pros: The price speed is good, 300mb @ 5ghz would be nice all the time avg around 108-175 mb it is fast no disconnects good range getting 135-145 in my garage 30ft away so - an egg because im not gettin the full 300mb

Cons: just that im not getting the 300mb connect maybe ill look for a updated firmware or somthing

Other Thoughts: $20 bucks the size make it a little odd if you have side mount usb or front someone could break it

5 out of 5 eggsGreat adapter

Pros: Connecting at a full 300 mbps. Running great, fast downloads and streaming videos with no problem. Highly recommended wifi adapter.

Cons: None at all..

Other Thoughts: This is my second refurbished AE2500. Got both on sale and I'm totally satisfied. Can't beat the price for an awesome adapter, much cheaper than getting new.

1 out of 5 eggsworthless

Pros: cheap

Cons: connects at 162mps on a netgear wndr4500 for a couple minutes then drops out. tried changing every setting available.
Has to be reset easiest to just swap to another usb port. same on windows 8 and xp pro system's.
Odd speed is same distance from router 5 feet and 20 feet.

Other Thoughts: Was going to send it back but costs more to mail than its worth.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks fine in Win 8. Great price.

Pros: Needed a wireless adapter for the computer I was building for my sister to play skyrim (Phenom II X4, AMD 760g chipset, Windows 8 64 bit). This was a 5 minute setup - insert CD, run setup, plug in wireless card. Works great through two walls at her house (the network is wireless G with a repeater.)

Cons: Kind of wide- would be nice if the plug was on a pivot. No newer drivers since the CD came out, which makes me cautious since driver updates are usually de rigeur.

Other Thoughts: Looks like these refurbs have been pretty hit or miss. Mine came well packaged in a "Cisco" branded brown-box, with a manual and CD. No complaints here.

1 out of 5 eggsBad

Pros: Ummm, cheap.

Cons: So, apparently it is refurbished, I may have not read well enough before purchasing, but I was unaware of that. It came in little to no packaging, moving around freely in the box. A little over a week of use and the light has dimmed and it has stopped working all together. I have never had an issue with Linksys before, but I don't see myself buying their products again anytime soon. What really bugs me about this is my laptop, which is right next to my desktop, using a cheap little wifi receiver gets 5 bars and this crumby linksys stick is saying no networks found. I have personally not owned one, but I'm going to get an Ethernet to wireless adapter. Even if that thing comes broken, it couldn't be nearly as bad as this awful product.

Other Thoughts: I would have written a strongly worded review if Newegg would have allowed me.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!!

Pros: Connects at solid 300mbps at 5Ghz. Bought it for streaming HD content from HTPC and WMC to XBOX. Works perfectly fine!

Cons: None that I could think of. Would be nice to just have it plug and play without any installation but not that big of a deal for me.

Other Thoughts: First couple of times during install it looked like the adapter was dud but then tried to run install again and it detected and connected right away.

2 out of 5 eggsWorst Reception (from CiscoFan)

Pros: You are getting a CISCO labeled product, not CISCO quality.

Cons: This has to be the worst reception of any adapter I have purchased in past 7 years. I use Cisco router at work and it (4500) puts out nice signal strength etc so I decided to opt for the adapter as well. Boy was I sadly mistaken and disappointed. Please listen to this humble business owner and computer enthusiast, PASS ON THIS ONE. My review is not to bad mouth the product but rather to offer sage advice from someone whom owns this under performing product. At best I get 1 signal bar (out of 5) from about 100 ' open area signal. I have repositioned, updated drivers and this now will go to auction site as it is worthless.

Other Thoughts: If you don't heed good advice then you are left to learn on your own. It would be 1 egg but the design is nice and fits in tight USB areas unfortunately they didn't engineer the product for reception.

Manufacturer Response:
