1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Clean design

Cons: The AE3000 is a piece of junk. My former router antenna by Cisco worked fine until it went south. The connection on the new one is unstable during videogames. Bottom line: stay away.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Good choice for Windows 8

Pros: Nice package - and the published specs look great.
Results on speedtest.org over 5 runs just completed:
Wired: About 20.3 Mbps Down, 3.06 Up.
This Device: About 15 mbps down, 2.5 up.
Using Verizon FIOS, 25/25 plan.

Cons: Device Drivers are not automatically installed by Windows 8.
Installation Disk included fails with msg 'you must have windows XP SP3 or above"
Download of the Cisco installer from their website fails the same way.
Once working, it seems to 'stutter' - work for 5 seconds, stop for 1.
Based on a support forum message that is now months old saying to keep checking back for an updated windows 8 driver, it appears Linksys has abandoned support for this device.

Other Thoughts: If you bought it, go here to get and use the windows 7 drivers:

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: -Easy installation for Windows 7 users

-capable of sustaining high download speeds

-doesn't get as warm as some prior wireless adapters I've own

Cons: -No utility software

-Lacks advanced customization features from within device manager under the advanced tab, such as the ability to manually choose which frequency the device operates at

Other Thoughts: My household does a lot of streaming and online game playing during the day, which I average 40-50 down during peak hours. In the early morning hours I average 75-80 down. Not quite the 100Mbps download but that's too technical to explain for this review. Bottom line, I would recommend it to only those with average or better technical knowledge because it doesn't come with any type of utility software for people who know very little about wireless networking.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good After...

Pros: After I changed my router from a Linksys Wireless G to a new Linksys Wireless N, it worked great. It doesn't drop or make you sit there and wait for your information now. It seems to be faster and reliable.

Cons: With the older router, it would drop every once in while or I would wait for the page to come up. I don't have the fastest internet in the world, but I was expecting it to be better than the wireless G adapter I have.

Other Thoughts: It is getting the four stars just because it wasn't that great on the wireless G. The improved performance I know was from changing from G to N. I wasn't even using this that much untill I replaced the router which had slowed some in 4 years just because of the performance. It is performing like a champ with the wireless N router.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk

Pros: Looks cool.

Cons: Since day 1, this product has been nothing but dissapointing. It barely kept a signal during online game play, and I would DC every 5 minutes(SWTOR, WoW, Black Light, Planet Side 2). This only ocurred after I started using this. I have switched through my USB ports, used the cable on and off, even got my pc about 6 feet away from my router, same results. I've tested at multiple friends houses, same thing, and they would be using some cheap $15 card, and work perfectly. Today, it stopped working altogether. I am very dissapointed with this product, and will likely never buy from Linksys again.

Other Thoughts: I got this back January, and has been bad since day one. Hopefully I get a fefund or something, who knows, maybe I just got a bad card.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Works great with Windows 7. Long range, over 100ft from router through a few walls and I get my full speed. Relatively easy to install

Cons: Doesn't work at all with Linux. Annoying bright blue LED.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Perfect

Pros: Works perfect and has an extention cable

Cons: The High Price. I don't think this is worth 50 dollars

Other Thoughts: Wish the cable was atleast a foot longer

5 out of 5 eggsWorth the investment.

Pros: Installation is as simple as plugging the device in to any available USB port, and installing the supplied driver. Not having to open the case to install...priceless. Having a cable makes it easier to find a sweet spot without having to move the whole system.

Cons: Lightweight. Can be easily knocked around in a busy environment. Cable could be longer.

Other Thoughts: Works great. No problems detected yet. Have two working in a busy wireless environment (4 PCs and 4 embedded wireless devices...always running). Recently purchased another for a new system.
