1 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely poor performance

Pros: Simple installation.

Cons: Poor performance; severely and negatively interferes with another well-performing powerline unit.

Other Thoughts: Minor: relatively large size given that it does not even offer a pass-thru power outlet option. It is almost twice the size of another powerline unit we have.

5 out of 5 eggsPlug and Play

Pros: Works out of the box
Awesome sale price
Excellent connection

Cons: Only one port (easily fixed with a switch)

Other Thoughts: I live in a a two story with router upstairs and use this to get a better connection to all of my home theater devices on the first floor. Although I purchased the single port I have it wired into a switch which works great. I am now able to get HD stream, which I was unable to get over wireless. I purchased this for under $20 which was a fantastic sale price.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy to set up & works great

Pros: Easy, quick setup.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Bought this in order to move a WiFi Access Point to a more suitable location. (Could not run new wiring.) The setup could not have been easier & it works exactly the way I need it to. Now the WiFi AP is in the family area while the rest of the network gear is out of sight.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Possible

Pros: Not sure there are any unless wireless is absolutely not an option...

Cons: Slow, even side by side... REALLY slow when on a different circuit (same panel)

Other Thoughts: How can this be advertised as having 200Mbps speeds when the LAN connection is 100Mbps????

In any case, when connecting these next to each other on the same circuit (ideal scanario) I only got half the transfer rate of a direct connection. The 1GB folder was transferring at a rate of 12Mbps vs >6Mbps using the PLEK400 (as measured by Win7). In my target location I got much worse speeds which were even lower than wireless.

2 out of 5 eggsSpeed results vary from outlet to outlet

Pros: Easy setup.

Cons: Speed results vary greatly from outlet to outlet.

Linksys Powerline Utility crashes on Windows 8 (works on Windows 7).

Other Thoughts: I have Cox 100Mbps internet. I average 87Mbps on a wired computer. Connected PLEK400s to router and to this same computer. Now I only get 56Mbps (at best). The PLEK400s were on the same power wire (two outlets in the same room, same circuit).

Next, moved one PLEK400 to a computer in another room (different electrical wire, different circuit). Now I'm lucky to get 20Mbps. That's a huge drop!

I tried upgrading the firmware, but that didn't help.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works!

Pros: Affordable, easy setup

Cons: Have to plug directly in wall outlet

Other Thoughts: Usually don't write reviews, but I'm really happy with this product. We had SO many devices using wireless that the frequency was saturated. Laptops, phones, two desktop computers, AND our wireless cable box. Every time my kid would download, the TV would digitally pixelate and freeze. I was skeptical this product would work for us because our home wiring is old old, much of it only 2-wire with no ground. We literally plugged these units in, hooked them up, and it works. No disconnects, no issues, and no more saturated 2.4Ghz bandwidth!

5 out of 5 eggsLinksys PLEK400

Pros: 85 Mbps at router, 55 Mbps at PLEK400 located at far end of house. No setup required, just plugged it in!

Cons: The 2 CAT5 cables provided were only 3 ft long, but then I wasn't expecting any cables to be included...

1 out of 5 eggs2 Mbps - all I could get from it

Pros: Worked right out of the box.

Cons: 200 Mbps? Seriously? Real speed was 2 Mbps max, when connected to outlets that are close enough to each other.
When directly connected to the router, I got 17 Mbps download speed. Huge dfference.

Other Thoughts: Worthless.

1 out of 5 eggsIt would be great solution if it's working ok

Pros: Easy to install (plug&play)
Low latency between PCs

Cons: Critical issue: Randomly lost connection (synchronicity lost?)

Depend of the distance between devices, connection can drop 50% (or more), but that's ok: you still have 100 Mbps.
The problem is its not a trusted solution if you have random disconnections: It can happen after 15 minutes or 4 hs (Does not follow any pattern), green lights out (for a couple of seconds) and no connection...

Other Thoughts: I tried restarting both devices, changing plug places, reinstalling firmware from Linksys website (it has only one available and its the same on the devices) and no solution at all.
