This review is from: Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n USB 3.0 Up to 867 or 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Drops the connection I have Windows 8.1 64bit. What I should I do to make this adapter stable ??

Cons: Drops the connection I have Windows 8.1 64bit. What I should I do to make this adapter stable ??

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Miko,

Allow us to help. Check if other wireless devices in your network is having an unstable wireless connection. If this behavior is observed in other wireless clients in your network, it's possible that the router settings need adjustments. You may want to change the wireless channel of the router to improve the connection. If the unstable connection happens in your Win 8.1 computer only, uninstall and reinstall the adapter. Try it on a different USB port of the computer. Install it on a different computer to further isolate.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far, so good

This review is from: Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n USB 3.0 Up to 867 or 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Quick, easy installation. Solid bandwidth. Good range. Great speed.

Cons: None at the moment

Other Thoughts: While this is a little pricier than other models from Linksys and competitors (Netgear, D-Link), I was most interested in a device I can count on. This installed into my desktop quickly and without issue, and I am receiving great signal strength from 40-45 feet away, on the other side of the house, through a concrete interior wall and 2 other normal stud walls.

3 out of 5 eggsI really dont know whats up

This review is from: Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n USB 3.0 Up to 867 or 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Worked wonderfully for like a week...

Cons: For whatever reason i used to get 5/5 bars but i went down to 4/5 bars which is NOT a big deal at all, in fact i didnt even care. But when it constantly drops to 3/5 bars is where I draw the line. You know how fustrating it is playing at 3/5 bars? Constant d/c from servers and lag up the wazoo!

Other Thoughts: I use windows 8.1 x64, i don't know if the drivers arent there for windows 8.1, but its killing me. It really is. Second, i don't even know where to download the drivers, ive visited linksys' website and all it does is shows me a picture of the model and specs, where are the drivers? ( if there is any ) I want a refund if i just have a faulty model. It really irks me that I have to play like this especially because I cannot connect via ethernet. The distance between the router and I is one room above. I'm literally on top of the room where the router and modem is.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Vanessa,

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the Linksys WUSB6300 wireless adapter. Basing on how the signal drops from 5 bars to 3 bars, it is possible that the adapter is experiencing an interfering wireless signal. Do you remember changing any router settings? We suggest that you adjust the router's wireless channel to improve the adapter's connection. Try channel 6, 9, 11, and 1 for the 2.4GHz; 161 and 157 for 5GHz. You may also want to move the laptop within the line of sight of the router.

Email us at LinksysCares@linksys.com with your contact details, location, and the link to this review, so we can do further troubleshooting. We hope to hear from you soon.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressed, Good for gaming

This review is from: Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n USB 3.0 Up to 867 or 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: My niece had all sorts of issues gaming from her desktop computer. Can't run a hardwire and forced to use wireless. Although her existing card has a good signal the lag was awful. I purchases this higher end card in hopes to address the issues. Same Spec 802.11N and out performs the old card. This card resolved all the issues she was having.

You get what you pay for on this card. Were quite pleased with the performance, Thanks Linksys!

Also the setup was quite easy. As a computer tech I can identify something a end user can handle, and what they cannot. This is a really good straight forward interface to install it even for the less technical people. Good job.

Cons: None, solid product!

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

This review is from: Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n USB 3.0 Up to 867 or 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: None.
Chat support attempt I waited 90 minutes while listening to music music. Finally gave up.
However, the pre-installed Intel (R) Wireless-N 7260 that came with the laptop works great. All be it, it does not take advantage of the AC router speed.

Cons: Constant dropped connections
Does not go above 300Mbs
My System:
Lenovo:Y510P
Ram: 16mb
Video: 2x gt755m 2gb in SLI (4gb total)
Windows 8.1
Network: Linksys EA6700 Smart AC1750 Dual Band N450 + AC1300 Wireless Router IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n
Network.

On my desk top I run for a wireless: ASUS PCE-AC68 PCI Express Dual-band Wireless-AC1900 Adapter. This card works flawlessly, though it is on a Windows 7 64bit system

Other Thoughts: Sometimes reps read these and respond personally with some type of contact info. I am hoping so. I would like to try and get this to work.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Eric,

Thank you for reaching out to us. The WUSB6300 doesn’t have an available driver yet for Windows 8.1 which might be the reason why the connection constantly dropped. Feel free to email us at LinksysCares@linksys.com should you require our assistance anytime.

Thanks,

3 out of 5 eggsSerious Problems

This review is from: Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n USB 3.0 Up to 867 or 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Decent ac support if they'll add full USB 3.0 support in an updated driver/firmware.

Cons: I wrote the previous review of this product with the same title as this one. I updated my router to an ac model and most of the issues went away. The following are true with the USB 3.0 issue being the most serious.

- Doesn't connect or advertise as a USB 3.0 device when connected to a confirmed USB 3.0 port. Verified with USBVIEW utility.
- Doesn't include a cabled USB cradle like the AE3000.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

This review is from: Linksys WUSB6300 Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Adapter IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n USB 3.0 Up to 867 or 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: 1. Worked right out of the box and into my USB ports. No needed installation software.

2. Connection is stable and has served me beautifully for online gaming with no unreasonable lag spikes.

3. It didn't catch fire, and I like that in a product.

I don't know who all these people are having problems with their "router trains" but they could simply have a defective adapter, or they are using it inappropriately. It's too technologically simple a device to have many problems with it. If it isn't working and delivering what its specs say it delivers, exchange it for another because there is nothing inherently wrong with its design or performance.

Cons: It isn't free?
