Pros: I got verizon DSL for my internet service provider, and the connection works great!

Cons: - 4 or more devices connected will slow down the connection if you have Verizon DSL, unsure about FIOS or other broadbands.
- The Range outside of the house could be better.
- no firmware downloads as far as I noticed

Pros: I noticed there are quite a few 1 egg reviews for this router. Two of those written by the same person on the same day, and half of the two reviews are exactly the same, and those are the person's ONLY Newegg reviews.

So I'd like to confirm that this router does NOT disappoint. I'm still using it on my home network, which has a multitude of gaming PCs, gaming consoles, and people who stream online movies every day of every week every year.

Three of us are online gamers (serious online, FPS and RPGs, farmville doesn't count... network speed and latency isn't a priority with that type of online game.) This router EASILY handles SIMULTANEOUS netflix streaming, music streaming, 3 SEPARATE games of Battlefield (I prefer vehicle maps, one of my kids prefers smaller more infantry favored maps, and my other son plays it on his PS4, not a PC). We have NO problems. The laptops and smartphones also have no issues save the average wireless connectivity issues relative to a wired connection.

WIRELESS is NOT a guaranteed connection. It's WIRELESS! Although it's usually very good, causing annoying lack of connection problems on rare occasions, but usually for only very short duration. (minutes, not hours or days.).

Cons: There was ONE firmware release that caused the router to lose connection due to a DNS resolution error. A simple google search explained what was causing the problem I did experience for a couple days. I would STILL be experiencing it if I simply did NOT try to find out what the problem was and just left it alone to constantly repeat that error.

Other Thoughts: When I reverted the firmware back to the old version that was WORKING well, I also DISABLED the auto update option for the firmware. One should NEVER auto update firmware/bios! I didn't even think to check for that option on this router until I had an issue. I haven't had a problem since, I'm using that same firmware I had before the issue, and I didn't have any problems before the firmware issue. 2-3 days of random, limited internet access due to DNS being 'broken'. That's it. for ~ a year and a half.

Pros: Pro's

The router is easy to set up and has plenty of features all hampered by bad firmware.

Cons: Router is finicky and seems to have troubles only on the 2.4ghz band. I did not see any issues on the 5ghz band. I would point the finger at the firmware.

Other Thoughts: Once the firmware is updated this should be a solid router.

Pros: Setup, GUI interface, configuration of guest access and 2.4 and 5 Ghz networks.

Cons: - Wild fluctuations in wireless ethernet speeds, especially on the 2.4 Ghz band.
- Usually watch Netflix but is sometimes completely unusable due to the speed variations.
- Speeds swing from 130 Mbps to 7 to 5 to 50 to 7, etc. This is all sitting directly beside the device with no obstructions.
- Only have the ability to utilize one static route. You can enter a few, but the router will only accept the most recent entry and delete the rest.

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately, I've been using this device for a while but didn't start to notice issues until taking on Netflix. Now, I have to shell out a couple hundred more dollars on something else.

Pros: Fast Speed!

Cons: If you name the router ssid the same for both bans the router randomly drops your connection. It took me forever to figure that out. That was really annoying.

Then after about after 1 year of use the router just started randomly rebooting. I think it overheats and then reboots.

I am majorly disappointed with this router.

Stability is the main thing I look for in a router. The speed means nothing if it randomly shuts down when I am watching ip tv.

I spent a lot of money on this router and now I have to go buy something else because this thing is a piece of klunk.

Pros: Fast and stable connection.

No support for 3TB+ hard drives

Other Thoughts: Great router for very basic use. Setup options are very limited and everything is automated. Unstable firmware and bad USB HDD detection.
There is no point to pay so much for limited functionality this router provides. TP-Link in $50 range would same job just fine.
Avoid it.

Pros: Sleek design, user friendly interface, easy to use, alright tech support, fast in house network, quick setup, light weight, easy to use interface

Cons: Unreliable connections, bad for streaming, will not support hard drive connectivity on 2GHz band, randomly changes IP address class, No USA support although the techs in the Philippines are respectful and speak English very well. They only call you back they never call you direct. Oh if their tech support connects to your computer remotely they record everything they see on your network. And they only tell you that if you notice.

Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a linksys wRT610 router that died after 6 years. I purchased this drive on 8/24 and spent 15 minutes setting up (It's not that hard), but I immediately started having problems with my friends connections dropping off almost immediately and repeatedly. The drive would change ip addresses randomly repeatedly. I could not access my network printers.

I worked on it for an hour before we could get online for a short period of time. Next day I worked with Belkin (Linksys support in the Phillipines) Finally got ti working for a short period of time until it stopped working again. I finally exchanged it for a second unit. It worked!! Until I added my network hard drive from my original router that was working. I finally came to realize that I could not gain access to my shares via any wireless devices on the 2GHz band. I could only connect using the 5GHz band.

Unfortunately 1 of my laptops (my newest one) does not support 5GHz. In the end I traded it in for a WRT1900AC. Works perfect. And very little time needed to get it working.

If you can afford the E6900 then spend a little more and get the WRT1900AC. It worked right out of the box. Had it mounted on the wall like want and working in 15 minutes.

Linksys support lied at first when I asked if the connectivity issue was a known issue on the EA6900 or not and they lied again when I asked if the hard drive issue was known or not. They all were known by Linksys but supposedly the firmware upgrade fixed it. The firmware upgrade did nothing for my problem though.

If you can afford this drive it is worth it to spend more and buy the Linksys WRT1900AC router instead. The tech guys told me when I exchanged the EA6900 for the WRT1900AC that lots of people had brought the EA6900 back for various reasons, but none had all the problems I had. In the end I stuck with Linksys even though they are no longer owned by Cisco.

Pros: Easy Setup. Sleek style. Easily see all devices attached. Very fast compared to my last Linksys router

Cons: Purchased drive on Friday and on Sunday had to exchange it. Locked out my primary desktop system and could not get access for hours. Not very reliable. We will see how the second one holds up

Other Thoughts: spent a lot of time without internet access. When I first connected it everything worked fine, but after a while the router changed class from class C to Class A and then to a class B. Even after I bridged my Cable modem, it still changes IP addresses. Finally it died and I could not get back on the network no matter how man times I reset it. Finally exchanged it and the replacement is currently working, but I don't have confidence it will last the week. I am giving it a 2 rating instead of 1 because it is fast ... when it works.

Pros: Very simple to use, works like a charm for basic use

Cons: Oversimplified configuration, missing a lot of features like DNS IPv6 address, for this kind of money you expect more. Traffic prioritization created so many connectivity problems and slowness that I had to turn it of

Other Thoughts: It works great - I didn't have to touch it until my ISP got DNS issues and I've discovered how painful it is to use it to change DNS (couldn't find how to change IPv6

Pros: When it works I get good wired passthrough, portforwarding and NAT work very well. The wireless could be better( the 2.4 band works great, but the 5Ghz band hardly has any range).

Cons: Literally drops all connections including the wired connections and fully crashes to the point you can't even get the log in screen to come up. Just times out! I have to power cycle this thing daily and sometimes twice a day!!!! Sometimes power cycling doesn't even work and I have to do it two or three times to get it working!! What's the point in having all the fancy antennas and features if the router as a whole just crashes daily.

I updated the firmware and oh boy did that just cause more problems. I've tried all versions of the firmware they have released. When using any firmware other than the default base factory firmware I can never get the wireless to work... ever! The only thing that works is the base firmware. What's the point in releasing firmware that breaks the router even more than the way it was shipped!? If you've updated the firmware and are having wireless issues revert back to the original firmware version and everything will work fine again(that is until the whole thing crashes and you have to power cycle it again).

AVOID THIS ROUTER AT ALL COSTS!!!
200 bucks(what I paid at the time of purchase) is not worth a unreliable 2.4Ghz router since the 5Ghz band doesn't hardly ever work!!!

Other Thoughts: I wanted to also point out that this router crashes when you move it while it's active. Odd thing to be sensitive to movement!
