Great Wireless (Gaming) Adapter
- Pros: Excellent range Connected to my Xbox 360 flawlessly. It is a gaming adapter made so that it works with gaming platforms without the use of a driver, to get it to work with your PC you have to use the disk. Great speeds if your using it with a D-link router you can get speeds up to 108 when configured correctly. No lag on halo or call of duty. No in game drops keeps my Netflix on HD speeds.
- Cons: Kinda expensive when compared to other adapters with N capabilities and speeds up to 300mbps.
- Other Thoughts: Wish D-Link would make a gaming adapter with N speeds.
Outfield Fly Out
- Pros: Dual Band A/B/G. External with apparent high gain antenna. Nice packaging. Appearances are about all it has.
- Cons: Like others, this device absolutely would not connect to any access points. I have a dual-band DLINK AP (DWL-7100), and it would not connect at all. In fact, this device only saw the B/G side of my AP. Definitely a disappointment. I use WPA-Personal with MAC authentication, and I refuse to compromise any on security to get this device to potentially connect. I have my Tivo connected via 802.11G (TiVO Series 3 Wireless Adapter), my XBOX360 connected through 802.11a, and two laptops connected through A and/or G. So, I know the AP is working. I suspect the firmware was never finished correctly.
In addition to connecting to my AP, I tried to connect to unsecured wireless devices in the neighborhood with no luck.
In the past, I have had great luck with D-LINK products, but not this one. This unit is expensive, and I would not recommend buying based on my experience and the experience of others.
- Other Thoughts: It looked like a long fly ball, but it fell short at the warning track.
Horrible
- Pros: Never got to test it out.
- Cons: Despite calling Tech support 5 times in 2 days, was never able to connect it my wireless system. I had a brand new wireless router and new internet service so it was not due to old equipment.
