5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: Picks up my wireless just fine. Currently using software that came with the wifi adapter and no connection problems with it. I don't have any issues other users are having with this product. It's been working perfectly fine for me. I do a lot of online gaming and streaming info to and from servers for games is pushing a lot of data. No BSOD(Blue Screen Of Death) from using it on my end.

Cons: Kinda bulky. Not enough to doc an egg though.

Other Thoughts: Does heat up, but not to an non-operational temp.

5 out of 5 eggsBargain Adapter

Pros: With the CD and Windows XP, had it installed and running
in five minutes. Works as advertised. Slightly warm like the
other adapters I own. Picks up my Netgear router and three
other routers in my neighborhood.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Eight dollars? This is a excellent buy if you need a good
wireless adapter.
It includeds a USB extension cord with a neat little
weighted base.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Bother

Pros: Small, cheap, thats it. No more pros.

Cons: dont try and push large amounts of data thru it or you will BSOD. If I could have given it a zero I would have.

Other Thoughts: Spend 5 or 10 dollars more for somthing that actually works.

2 out of 5 eggsVery mediocre

Pros: It will connect you to a wireless router or access point. It sees connections well and maintains them well.

Cons: If you put your computer to sleep, when you wake it back up the adapter WILL NOT turn on. You will need to unplug it, then plug it back in. It's not a huge issue, but it is a big PITA. Running the latest drivers from D-Link has not fixed this issue.

Other Thoughts: I'm running Vista Ultimate 64-bit, but that doesn't seem to have any impact on the "waking computer" issues.

1 out of 5 eggsLook elsewhere. Very bad

Pros: Comes with dock.

Cons: Gets very hot right away, which may not be a problem in and of itself. This thing disconnects ALL THE TIME. You need to remove and reinsert to have it find the network again.

This is junk, avoid it.

5 out of 5 eggsThese are great!

Pros: I have 4 of these spread out thru the house and they all receive at 108mb paired with a dlink router. I have not had any problem transfering large files or down loading from the net. I have downloaded gigabytes at a time from the net with movies and games and have never had a problem. I would highly recommend these for your use. They are easy to install and work flawlessly. I have not had any of the overheat problems that others experience. I also like the extended cord that comes with them allowing you to get the very best signal possible instead of being stuck in the computer but you still can put it direct in the computer if you like. Hope this helps with your decision the price is right too.

Cons: I really can't think of any it is nice to have a piece of hardware that just does what it is suppose to do.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid It

Pros: It sometimes works.

Cons: It disconnects constantly, 4-5 times per day, and gets very hot. Looking around online, I'm not the only one with these problems.

Other Thoughts: I called support, and they claimed it was my router. I explained that that was rather interesting, since at least 4 other devices in the house stay connected with no trouble at all. They escalated to 2nd tier support, which advised me to return it to the store and get a different kind (!) when they were told of the reviews I read. On hearing it was past the return policy (it was purchased near Christmas, I was too busy to worry about wifi issues then), they want me to ship it back to them, at my expense. Avoid it like the plague.

5 out of 5 eggsi don't like d-link BUT...

Pros: I've bought a few these units for work and home-- they all work for nearly a year now. At work, they are only used a few times a day to access the internet for software updates and transferring small files.

Cons: Packaged software is goofy -- I used the Windows management utility and it works.

Other Thoughts: To be honest - I have not transferred large files with the units, and they are only used for light surfing. I have these connected to D-link, netgear, and linksys routers.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't try to download anything larger than 50 Mb

Pros: It works as long as you don't try to download or transfer large files.

Cons: If you try to download a file from the internet larger than about 50 Mb it will fail.
If you try to transfer a large file across the network it will fail even faster.

Other Thoughts: I might try wrapping it in ice the next time I try a large download.
