5 out of 5 eggsGood Basic Switch

Pros: Relatively inexpensive, good brand (I've always had good luck with D-Link switches), low power usage, jumbo packets and gigabit speeds. It does its job and it does it well.

Cons: It doesn't cook for me.

Other Thoughts: I use this as a node switch in the home office, with one port going back to the backbone managed switch.

It's just a switch. What else is there to say?

1 out of 5 eggsUnreliable

Pros: None of significance

Cons: 3x Just stops working. No known trigger. each of 3 of theses I've had died between 12 and 15 months.

Other Thoughts: I've had units like this last 5 to 8 years and higher quality last 10 to 15 yrs. This thing is not worth the time it takes to plug it in because you'll be doing that again in 12 months. Buy another brand.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Three years later still trucking on. $25 well invested.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Someone here claimed that it does not pass Magic Pakets for WOL . This is not correct. I have woken my machines many times remotely. No problem.

1 out of 5 eggsIt is d-Link - dead as expected

Pros: Worked for a few months

Cons: I was out of home for less than two days, and upon return has found that my living room switch (connected to a media PC, blue ray player, Dishnetwork) is not connecting anymore. I was disappointing. When I disconnected it to replace with a spare (a have three more "green" gigabit switches active in my house, and had one extra unit), I was surprised to see it was a D-Link. I did not use D-Link products anymore, I do not remember any of them were working - switches were dead, wifi was loosing signal and routes were loosing computers, and even power supplies on D-links were not powering those. Perhaps I did a mistake somehow, or receive it instead of a real product. Thus, one more peace of trash from the same brand. Other switches are not D-Links, they are working and will work.

Other Thoughts: In part, it is my mistake, I knew well that D-Link will not work. It is in a deserved place now - landfill.

1 out of 5 eggsGot two and both died within 3 years

Pros: Cheap

Cons: I bought two. One died in under two years. The other died in another 8 months. Spend a little extra money and get a better one.

4 out of 5 eggsWorked great for 2 years, then died out

Pros: I've had this unit for 2 years, It worked great during that time... I'd easily transfer files b/w my media server and desktop at 90-100MB/s. No problems while it was working

Cons: After 2 years the switch just completely died out. The light remained on, but nothing was going through the ports. Besides that, I can't really complain.

1 out of 5 eggsUnits if fine, D-Link is horrible

Pros: Its a switch

Cons: Unit died. After TWO MONTHS I am STILL trying to get an RMA from D-Link. If they can't stand behind their products, I'll buy from another company.
