Pros: Lots of options.

Cons: Begun giving problems after one year.

Other Thoughts: I was perfectly happy with this router while it worked. A wide range of options (though their router's UI could use some improvements). Funny enough, not long after the warranty period expired, it begun to give problems. Wireless would randomly turn off and on again. Wired and wireless speeds throttled from 54 Mpbs to 5-15 Mbps (confirmed router problem by connecting straight to modem and by a other router) gave. Connection would randomly stutter, even wired.

Restarting the router would fix the issues, but would replicate within 5 minutes to one hour. Disabling / Defaulting numerous settings and factory reset did not resolve anything. Firmware was also updated.

Unfortunately I'm stuck having to buy a new router after one year, and likely will not buy a D-Link product in the future. Pity as I really enjoyed using this router beforehand.

Pros: easy set-up

Cons: Worked to begin, but had never great coverage. My neighbor's wireless router who's house is past my bedroom (which houses PC/Router) provides stronger signal than my own device which is 50 feet closer. Then, lately, my web sites wouldn't load any longer. Some would (regardless how slow), most others just timed out. Then it would work again ... somewhat. Contacted CenturyLink who's my DSL provider ... Spent 45 minutes on the phone with them since I assumed it was their fault slowing down my internet speed. Nada, no results. Then I read to bypass the router, and connect the modem directly to my computer ... And sure enough, my web sites were loading again ... with speeds I could comfortably live with. Router back in line, and everything would come to a crawl again.

The crazy thing about it is that I don't even have my PC wireless connected! It's hard wired! And even then I have those problems!!!

I have the latest firmware, even reset it to factory default ... no joy! About to get another router which will definitely not going to be a DLINK!

Pros: Nice... colors?

Cons: Connection craps out when watching streams or using utorrent. This happens with many d-link models, including this dir-655.

Especially bad for gamers that share connection with others. Somebody else downloading torrents (even at low speed)? Your ping is increased.

Pros: This router performed well for 2 years

Cons: Starting about a year ago, the router would occasionally prevent connections to certain web sites. Flushing the DNS cache seemed to relieve this temporarily. It has progressively got worse to the point that it will not work at all and requires a reboot at least daily. I updated the firmware and it seems to be a little better, but still requires regular rebooting.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps it is unrealistic to expect more out of consumer goods today. But I purchased this product because my last DLink router lasted 8+ years and got retired primarily to get faster N speeds. I was hoping this one would last until AC routers had become well established.

Pros: Has great speed it was a really simple install back in 2010. It has given my family 4 years of service and it hasn't died out on us yet. This router is a solid one, I extremely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a router just under 70 bucks. Its is a true champ.

Cons: Overall the years there has been some hiccups it has dropped signal a few times over the course of this last year, I think its because it is getting old and overheating its really hot to the touch....makes me wonder why manufactures don't build any of them with a small mm fan. But nowadays no manufacture builds anything to last...so I am really amazed at how long this router has kept going.

Pros: It looks nice...

Cons: I have never had a problem setting up a router in my life and when I did the problem was resolved quickly. I spent countless hours attempting to setup this router at 2 different houses with 3 different ISPs. No luck, nothing, DOA. I even caved out of frustration and called Tech support, which was completely use less and only told me what I already knew and treated me like I had an IQ of a stale piece of bread. Also Couldn't understand 30% of what the tech support was saying cause they're over seas.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy, go buy a Linksis or Asus.

Pros: It's Speed. It has a good range for my apartment, I can even get wifi from it in my car, couple houses down from my apartment. Great color and slim design. The UI allows for good customization.

Cons: None that I have come across.

Pros: Good features, good range. Fast ethernet.

Cons: Worked good up until right after the warranty period. Since then I have had daily drops of wireless connections and constant DNS issues. Kept firmware updated and tried a myriad of configs to no avail. Lastly I updated the firmware with the Canad version, turned off QOS and DNS relay and it seems more stable, but as soon as you get 3 or more devices connected to it, it slows down and my PS3 will disconnect with DNS errors. Then my laptop just quits loading web pages. Unplug and reboot it and its good for a while longer. Sometimes 3 or 4 reboots are required.

Other Thoughts: Dlink has always been my go to router for myself, friends family and clients, but after this experience I think I am going to have to go to another brand. :(

PS. Had extensive testing done by TWC and even got a new modem from them. No help!

Pros: Wired network works as it should.

Cons: The wireless which is touted as "Blazing speed wireless N" Can barely sustain 8mbps This problem exists across all devices from phones to laptops even to my D-Link Camera. The entire router reboots whenever it feels like it.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to not get the econo model router.
For the price increase I should get something that performs better. Now so far I have been on the phone with customer service for over an hour. They still keep trying to blame my isp. However hard connected through their very same router on a wired connection.
I am only trying to get signal 2 go 15 feet on this "ultimate range Xtreme" Model...
Shame on you D'link you just lost my business.

I am disappoint.
