1 out of 5 eggsToo much effort

Pros: Often works.

Cons: Rather than list all the problems, let's just say this: if you know what you're doing, you will be able to overcome every obstacle this thing throws at you, but if you're lazy, you might resent it.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Quality

Pros: Everything looked great when I first installed the card.

Cons: First day of having the card I noticed there seemed to be a bit of a problem with latency. I would hit a page, it would load half the page then it would load for 10 seconds and then load the second half. I have very fast internet so this shouldn't be an issue. At the end of the night I went to send an email and encountered the "Cannot find any wireless networks." that seems many other s have encountered.

Other Thoughts: 1. I should have read reviews before purchasing (thats what they are there for)

2. I didn't really give it a second chance to prove itself RMA'ed it and got something else. I need a card I know will work, all the time!

5 out of 5 eggsFast

Pros: Seems to have a great relationship with my D-Link DGL-4500 Xtreme N Gaming Router. Downloaded 10Gb really fast. Easy to install too.

Cons: None yet

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY, Does NOT Work

Pros: Internal design, 3 antennas.

Cons: WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO. Absolute FAIL to setup with Windows 7/Vista, connects rarely and shows 130-200mbps throughput but horrificaly SLOOOW internet connection speed if that no connection at all. Bottom line SKIP do NOT buy STAY AWAY from D-LINK and THIS card. Might work for a week probably and then fails everytime.

Now I'm stuck with it, Newegg wont return it I already RMA'd it still failing after 2 cards.

Other Thoughts: I will NEVER buy another D-Link product again.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: If you have a system that actually is compatible, it works well

Cons: According to Microsoft's website, this product is NOT compatible with Windows 7 , despite what the box says. In my experience with it, I could not get it to work no matter what drivers I used with it

1 out of 5 eggsA waste of money

Pros: Not much - when working, the connection rates are high

Cons: Unreliable! The adapter is about 3 months old and it started to need resetting every couple of days about 2 - 4 weeks ago. This week, only reboots of my computer seemed to allow it to reconnect. Now, that's stopped. I've put back in the Ralink adapter that I replaced and don't expect to go back.

2 out of 5 eggsWeak

Pros: Interchangeable parts, automatically installed by Windows 7

Cons: I bought this to replace my friend's USB NIC dongle, which could barely reach his network. This NIC unfortunately didn't fare any better, so I returned it. One would expect a significantly larger range, if nothing else, from such a fancy-looking, expensive internal NIC.

Other Thoughts: Also worth noting, my Acer laptop ($380 a year ago) gets a very usable signal from my friend's network. There's no way it has a more expensive NIC than this one lol

1 out of 5 eggsMove along..

Pros: When it works, it's fast.

Cons: It completely drops the connection every few minutes. Have to go into networking and re-connect myself everytime this happens.

Other Thoughts: I'm on my second one right, having returned the first one thinking it defective. It wasnt, the product was just that bad. Get something else.

2 out of 5 eggsSerious stability issues

Pros: Well priced for an 802.11n card, and comes from a good manufacturing pedigree. Unless you're one of the unlucky people who have no end of trouble with this thing, then it's a fine purchase.

Cons: Ugh, I don't even know where to start. This thing has been on the market for four years now, and even the newest drivers (provided by either D-Link or Atheros; take your pick) pose severe stability issues on Windows 7 x64 (Gigabyte mobo). Trying to do more than one network-intensive action at one (like copying files via Windows explorer or running torrents) will, more often than not, cause either a bluescreen, a system lockup, or (best case scenario) the card to roll over and die and not be able to find any networks until a reboot. Exasperated, frustrated, need to replace the darn thing.

5 out of 5 eggsPerformed when others failed

Pros: Went right in and worked like a charm.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Installed this for someone else, they had gone through 3 other wireless cards and they all didn't work, must've been some interference somewhere. I installed this one for them and it's worked flawlessly for over a year now.
