5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: Works, better them other routers at this price.

Cons: antennas are not detachable

Other Thoughts: This is my second D-Link, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. The one I have running at my other house has never ever ever ever had to be restarted. I am using stock firmware and already this router is kicking but* and taking names. Much better then my Rosewill N router which blew, and was about the same price. I just don't understand what other people have against this company, customer support might not be the best but this router is rock solid. I will report back after I put it through some test, like streaming high def to my PS3 while watching a movie on netflix and surfing the web about how great I am. But until then D-link rocks. I might use DD-WRT But no reason to as of right now.

1 out of 5 eggsDIR-615 Horrible customer support

Pros: Low cost

Cons: Firmware is a joke, customer support is worse. Spent hours on the phone with their technical support. Initially the router would not recognize some of my devices because it thought they had invalid mac addresses. Tech support acknowledged that problem and requested an upgrade to the firmware. That upgrade fixed this problem, but introduced other new problems that degraded the service for all connections. Now connections are intermittent and the connection timeout is set to one minute, so advanced services requiring longer open connections don't work at all. Tech support doesn't even respond to detailed email trouble reports submitted through the form on their website. My experience with d-link is horrible, stay away if you don't want to pull out all of your hair in frustration with them.

Other Thoughts: Choose a different product if you want one that works.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad for 3 years

Pros: Works for limited demand users. Worked well for over 3 years.

Cons: Too expensive for what it does.Would definitely not get it if you have many wireless devices, especially for streaming to a Blu-ray or HDTV. I had to dropp an egg because it is outdated for today's demands that a router should be built for.

Other Thoughts: If you just want to connect a laptop or 2, this is an ok choice. But then again, you can get a better router for less right here at the EGG. I went to a 600 mps dual band because when my wife is on the computer, I can't watch Netflix without it re-buffering all the time. It is a re-furb for Forty-two and free shipping ;)

4 out of 5 eggsGood Home Router (for me anyway...)

Pros: Great little router for home use; I personally haven't experienced any of the connectivity problems some of the other reviewers are having (and I'm using the stock software). Good coverage for my small two-story home. Look for a refurbished box, save a little money (I found a refurb for $20 myself, great deal that way).

Cons: One star off for coverage range. It works good for me because I have a smaller twin home, but when i go into the driveway or yard I get a big drop off in service. I would be weary of expecting this router to offer coverage in a bigger house.

Other Thoughts: Good router if you find it on sale or refurbed. Although beware, many reviewers are having problems with this router, maybe I just got lucky.....

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: None

Cons: Drops the Internet signal constantly. I have the B2 firmware, so I can't even upgrade to DD-WRT.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money!

1 out of 5 eggsBurning money is more satisfying

Pros: none I can identify

Cons: Unreliable, constantly drops wireless connections

Other Thoughts: If you have a choice between buying this router and burning the equivalent amount of money... go for the matches, you'll be must more satisfied.

1 out of 5 eggsBuy something else

Pros: It works when it wants to.

Cons: *When i first got this, my internet was fine the first day.
After that first day, my internet just went on and off.

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to play Online games with this without getting disconnected from the servers.
This has been going for the past month.

I called my ISP to ask why my internet was so jumpy, they said it was the Modem. I changed it, and my internet was still bad.

Then I got a new router, and my internet was good again.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for DD-WRT

Pros: reliable, cool, high throughput, good value router that is compatible with DD-WRT. Like a few others I did not bother with the D-Link stock firmware as I have had prior challeneges with other D-Link software. Once DD-WRT was installed it worked like a champ though, see Other Thoughts for some notes on my usage with DD-WRT.

Cons: It doesn't come pre-installed with DD-WRT

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these with the intention of having one serve as a client-bridge. After flashing the newest firmware on the devices (which is SUPER easy, it can all be done through the standard web GUI... see the DD-WRT site for details), I set up the internet access with ease, but ran into several issues with formatting the 2nd device as a Client Bridge. It turns out the DD-WRT build 15778 does not play nicely with the client-bridge functions, so if that is your intention with this device use build 14896. Once i downgraded to that firmware, it worked "out of the box" with little to no extra coaxing required. (It may also be worth mentioning, both of my devices are rev E3).

4 out of 5 eggsBest Bang For the Buck

Pros: Inexpensive, Long distance and reliable

Cons: None really but a couple of USB ports would be nice and Gigabit ports.

Other Thoughts: If you are having problems with wireless connections, it may be because there are too many other routers near by. Just change the radio channel from the default 6 to a lower one like 1. And set the antennas for one out and one in.
Have not had a problem with it since.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked good at first

Pros: It was cheap. Performed same as my old netgear. Range did not increase over my old Netgear G.

Cons: A little over a year my internet would constantly cut in and out. Making it impossible to play online games. I upgraded the firmware hoping that would do the trick. Still had same problem. I replaced the modem and still had same problem. Replaced router and problem solved.

Other Thoughts: Was hoping it would last longer than 16 months.
