5 out of 5 eggsJust what my work needed

Pros: just needed it for pc repair usage so its perfect, never drops signal and signal stays beautiful levels. I have pc tower builds constantly in and out of my garage and just got tired of PCI wifi cards and running a line so far from the router. picked up good enough signal far away to get my updates for the OS and software finished. Ive been overly using it daily since i purchased it and its never died or even dropped connection on me once. its probably been in 40 different machines so far. I will will this card for my gaming rigs most definitely.

Cons: its a bit bulky so the usbs behind a pc tower lets say 2 on each row wherever i put this card, either the top or bottom usb port is useless due to size.

Other Thoughts: perfect to get the job done. stable. good range for the house and im glad i picked this up for $9.99 on the newegg sale for it.

1 out of 5 eggsDo noy Buy

Pros: Price?

Cons: Bought with D-Link Router DIR-615.
Buy if you want to waste time. Difficult to install Router and the adapter with provided CD. Drops every few minutes.
You have to install the adapter each time you insert the adapter.
So frustated that both the Router and the adapter are out and old ones are it. May have to return the D-Link.

Other Thoughts: Do not Buy.

1 out of 5 eggsUnreliable

Pros: I personally got this wireless usb adapter for $29.99, so it didn't break my bank.

Cons: I've had issues where some days the connection is fine, but other days I lose connection every 10 minutes or so. DO NOT buy this product if you would like a smooth gaming experience. Of the times this adapter is working, around 25% of the time there are major latency spikes.

Other Thoughts: I've since switched over to another usb wireless adapter. I no longer experience as many issues as I have before.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well and fast

Pros: This adapter works well and fast with my D-Link DIR-665 Extreme N router. My router is approximately 30 feet away, located in the center of the house and I can pick it up with this adapter from all around and outside my house. I will be buying another of these adapters soon, because it works great.

Cons: I gave this adapter 4 eggs instead of 5 for only 1 reason, when booting up my system or waking it from sleep/standby, the adapter can take up to 30 seconds to reconnect to my home network. This is not a deal breaker, just that it seems to wait until the computer is completely out of sleep/ finished starting up to connect. Mildly irritating.

Other Thoughts: Windows 7 Professional
Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor
6 Gb Triple Channel 1333 DDR3 memory
120 GB OCZ Vertex Turbo II

5 out of 5 eggsworking!

Pros: Fast, and works on Debian Linux w/WPA2. (The latter is at your own risk! The revision I have works with the r8712u driver in Linux staging. There is no guarantee that the one your order will have the same chipset.) Am using it in an old laptop whose 802.11b internal controller just doesn't cut it on currentday.

I like that it comes with a USB cord & socket so you can locate it somewhere away from your computer. OTOH, this is also probably because it is slightly too thick to fit in the USB slot alongside another USB device.

Cons: None yet, except if the thickness issue mentioned above is a problem.

Other Thoughts: 802.11n does actually seem to work better than 802.11b! Or maybe it's just that a lot of current wireless routers no longer default to being 802.11b compatible?

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: When it works.... it works.

Cons: Bought this to use with a WDTV Live Plus Media Player. It is on the compatible list. It's compatible, but the Adapter is just not up to snuff. Connecting, but not going into 300MBPs, many a time would connect but only at 11MBs or lower. Tried on multiple N routers, laptops, etc. Router on the other side of the wall, signal strength of 78-94% when it worked properly.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Problems w/Win 7 64x

Pros: Installed with no problems, just don't try to use the disc for drivers, use the ones Win 7 came with. I'm using the Win 7 Home Version 64 bit for system builders, no problems. The computer is upstairs so distance doesn't seem to be a factor for me. My sons use the computer for watching Youtube with no problems...

Cons: None so far.
