Pros: The NIC is running at 300 Mbps (bits not bytes) with no perceptible dropouts. I absolutely LOVE the weighted extension cord/mount.
Cons: The Connection Wizard could not find the SSID even when told (mine is hidden). Workaround was to go to the Connection Manager and click on "MY WIRELESS NETWORKS", then click on New, then put in the Profile Name, SSID, etc. It came right up.
Other Thoughts: Disclosure: The one I got is Rev A. and did not come from Newegg. The SSID is not visible in the Connection Manager list. but it is visible in the upper part of the Connection Manager GUI. This could be by design. By the way, I am running Windows 7 RTM (32 bit).

Great but takes a bit of work

Pros: This thing is super fast, I remember when wireless was a total drag and you waited forever to open a webpage. I can't tell the difference between this and Gigabit on internet speed.
Cons: Total pain in the behind to setup. See other thoughts
Other Thoughts: I was playing Guild Wars and the game kept lagging horribly (15 seconds before response from server) which in Guild Wars makes you dead. Did some research on the internet turns out Windows Wireless Zero Configuration service doesn't like this adapter (as well a few select adapters). So you have to download the dlink Wireless connection manager software, and disable the WZC service (Start->Run->services.msc). Letting the dlink software manage everything allows the adapter to work fine no problems. But this shouldn't be a problem to begin with. I blame MS for making a bad Wireless Service and I blame DLink for not building the device around this well known issue. If it matters I have the Rev. B model which supposedly fixes a nastier problem than the one I described.

Does Not Work Well with XP - Returning

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Purportedly a dual band adapter that is easy to use and readily connects. I have had it "connected" at 300 mbps although no packets are actually received by the computer.
Cons: I should have read the reviews more carefully. The adapter chronically tries to acquire a network address but fails to do so. Thinking it might be the new router, I tried almost every configuration under the sun ... by the way I bought a DIR-655 which so far has been working flawlessly with 3 other computers with G and N adapters.
Even after downloading the most recent driver for the DWA-160, the adapter would not hold a connection. After trying the adapter on both a desktop and laptop, it is clear that either the software or the hardware (or both) are just plain useless.
Other Thoughts: Returning this waste of silicon and going to look at the DWA-140 or a different manufacturer's adapter.
