3 out of 5 eggs1 problem developed

Pros: All the features.
Works great when it stays on.

Cons: Sending it in for warranty leaves you without a unit. Going to see if they'll ship a refurbished one but not holding my breath.

Other Thoughts: After 6-7 months it began rebooting itself several times a day. At inconvenient times of course. It has the latest firmware and I never used a hard drive in it. I tried the tip in the knowledge base about turning off upnp but it didn't help. This also tells me they know there is a problem and apparently an update won't fix it. I will probably replace it with a "normal" router.

3 out of 5 eggsActing up now

Pros: It has lots of nice features. I wanted the NAS just for backing up stuff and having it easily accessible on the network. Didn't carabout the screen but it is handy to see it when the unit decides to reboot regularly. Has latest firmware and never even put a HD in yet.

Cons: The price is a bit high.
It has begun rebooting itself whenever it feels like it, regardless of use. Happens when streaming movies or just surfing.

Other Thoughts: Going to be contacting them about it.
I would recommend a seperate NAS and a different router.

1 out of 5 eggsAwful...

Pros: Good looking screen
Built-in BT
2.5" HDD Storage (see Cons)

Cons: NAS is extremely slow
HDD runs extremely hot (with 5200rpm disk) and the disk eventually overheat and now dead
EXT3 format cannot be accessed in Windows

5 out of 5 eggsIt's a good router

Pros: Easy hook up, great range, two usb connections, 802.11n is quick, compact size, heavy non-slip base, it's a NAS (network attached storage), weather, photo frame and news feeds on the screen are nice bonus features which are included.

Cons: For the money you pay, it should be dual band, it should include a hard drive (which it does not) and the storage drive is pretty slow.

Other Thoughts: This is my 3rd wireless router. The other two were Cisco/Linksys wireless N routers and they had very little range and weren't as quick as this one. You can buy this for half the price on a place named after a south american rainforest.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth it...

Pros: - Robust networking options
- Screen is nice
- err...

Cons: - No dual-band operation
- NAS option is absolutely awful: we are talking snail speeds
- Screen was displaying artifacts after one day
- Required rebooting several times over a two day period

Other Thoughts: In short, stay away unless the screen is just too cool. You can do better than this if you go with a high-end router and a standalone NAS. I returned mine for a refund and went with the WGR3700 coupled with an HP LX195. I spent a few more bucks but... There is NO comparison.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat gaming router

Pros: Fastest WAN to LAN throughput of any router on the planet, according to Small Net Builder tests

LCD screen - Monitor traffic, change settings, set as a clock, etc. Using for photos is a waste if you ask me

"Eliminate Lag" feature prioritizes streaming traffic (games, video, VoIP) over all other traffic in a bandwidth amount you set. (I set to full bandwidth of course)

Hard to argue it's one of the best if not the best looking router out there either

Cons: The cons are all things I just so happen to not do or use:

Heat seems like it is only a problem if you put an HD inside. I don't, and the fan has never turned on. So the noisy fan/poor thermal design seems completely dependent on if/what HD you install. (I would seriously recommend a solid state hard drive if you did)

Again the poor Network Attached Storage transfer rates are irrelevant if you do not use the HD. (I personally would never use NAS in-router because it just screams security risk to me)

The front panel buttons are not exactly the best execution in the world (you feel almost like you're gonna break the panel pressing so hard to get it to recognize a button press sometimes) but again once you have it setup, you never need to touch em again

Other Thoughts: Once you set the timeouts for the LCD screen, and set the sleep, it becomes an incredibly intuitive device. For instance the LCD will wake when a new connection is made to the router. So when I turn on my Xbox to play MW2, the LCD wakes and goes to the speed meter page. After an hour, it reverts back to a very convenient clock for my living room, which helps me keep an eye on how long I'm gaming instead of having to turn around, look at my phone, etc. After another hour, it goes to sleep and turns off completely. For this functionality alone, it is worth it to me.

Just seeing the traffic monitors on the LCD makes gaming better. For instance I know exactly when I'm host of a game, if a poor connection is due to throughput or ping, what the average data transfer rates are (pretty shocked to find out MW2 only uses around 20-80kb/s on average for download if you aren't host, around 300kb/s if you are)

Anyways, a must if you are a gamer!

5 out of 5 eggsrouter

Pros: Outstanding router! speed is great, no connectivity issues, and the storage/ftp options are amazing! Great customer support.

Cons: a little overpriced, in my opinion. also, read the manual. no matter what you already know about routers, this one is almost a self contained pc/server. i recommend the help videos on you-tube. Especially for setting up ftp functions.

Other Thoughts: if you want to set up a ftp or if you need a router with great wireless functions, this one is fantastic! a little high priced, but customer support makes up for it!

3 out of 5 eggsGood Router, Bad NAS

Pros: Lots of features and network info on screen. Built in ftp is great. ability to transfer files to the router/ftp from windows is easy and care free

Cons: The Nas feature is not speedy at, in fact it is the slowest I have ever seen, it feels like an after thought.

Other Thoughts: all in all this is a great router, just wished the nas speed was a little faster but still good feature to have no matter how slow
