1 out of 5 eggsdon't waste your money!

Pros: It worked for 7 months.

Cons: It only worked for 7 months, which is kind of expensive for the $30 I paid for it.

Other Thoughts: After 7 months it began to fail, and now it needs rebooting on a daily basis. Since this refurbed unit only has a 30 day warranty, I'm out of luck on an RMA and out of $30 for only 7 months of wifi routing. Apparently refurb means temporary...

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME!

Pros: Four of these running as WAP w/ DHCP turned off in all but one & the wifi channels offset by 2 channels ea. Awesome coverage thru out 5k sq ft. building with brick, glass & other normal problems. Super easy to configure and the up time can't be beat. Best router we have ever used. Devices do a great job channel hoping as you move from room to room. zero complaints.

Cons: none. Perfect price point for an awesome product.

Other Thoughts: If you have a large or problematic space you need WIFI, grab these up, lots of articles out there how to make these all work together & they work well.

2 out of 5 eggsNot happy

Pros: Good wifi signal, firmware update was easy...

Cons: won't port forward, slow to load web base pages, Had to set up permanent IP address for each item connected. Would not work without setting ip's up in web interface.

Other Thoughts: Like D-link but the DIR-655 is straight garbage...

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great! Great Value!

Pros: Worked great out of the box. Range out around 100 feet. With a large antenna I can get 65 MBPS at my home 100 feet away. Put this in our clubhouse for all to use.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsCannot handle heavy traffic

Pros: Looks pretty.

Cons: Once I start downloading large files through Steam/Origin or utorrent (100 max connections) or transfer large files across my network (1GB+) I can no longer browse the net. I've tried disabling QoS and Traffic shaping but it doesn't make a difference. Not sure if I should blame it being a refurb but I doubt that's the case.

It's not worth the money to send it back as it was on sale for $30 last week and it would cost me $10 to send it back. Maybe they'll have a firmware to make it suck less in the future.

Other Thoughts: Thought I was finally going to upgrade from my aging DGL-4100.

I have 30/5 connection and the DGL-4100 is a soldier. I peg my UL/DL frequently without issues.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy set up and works fine

Pros: I used the Internet Setup Wizard and it worked flawlessly. Just remember that if you are using a Comcast voice modem you must press the reset on the back, not just pull the power cord. I also used the "Add Wireless Device with WPS and it worked flawlessly. I had my wife's laptop and two iPhone4's connected in about 30 minutes from boot up. $29 was well worth it.

Cons: None that I have found.

Other Thoughts: You must enable "Multicast" for AirPlay to function on networked devices, such as the Yamaha RX-V673.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Router after FW upgrade

Pros: After updating the firmware this has been working fine. When I first got it, the router would just stop serving wireless about once a day until it was power cycled or toggled in the web interface.

Cons: Didn't come with latest firmware, was old stuff! Some kind of wireless bug I'm assuming in the firmware that came with it.

Other Thoughts: For the money not bad.

1 out of 5 eggsBuy a different Router

Pros: Inexpensive, great hobby project if you lots of time to waste figuring out why things don't work as they should, if you enjoy being frustrated this is the router for you.

Cons: Unstable, firmware upgrades make the unit operate worse than it does out of the box. I purchased 5 of these for our company to deploy and after my third one failed after only 10 minutes of operating, I have thrown in the towel.

Other Thoughts: I should have read all of the reviews first (shame on me) but with so many bad reviews New Egg should not be selling this device (shame on them)

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointing.

Pros: For the price, lots of features including the USB port, QoS, gigabit ethernet, and wireless n. Seemed like a great bargain.

Cons: The router chokes when you are backing up files wirelessly. I would constantly lose video streams when watching wirelessly. Sometimes, my wifi would stay connected, but the internet would drop out. It has issues with a Macbook Pro for some bizarre reason. The USB port is next to unusable without some special apps.

Other Thoughts: Again, there is a lot I wanted to like about this router, but ultimately, I upgraded to an Airport Extreme. I was frustrated with trying to get this thing to behave with every setting variation in the book. In the end, just disappointing.
