4 out of 5 eggsGreat for Access point

Pros: This unit is great when used as a cheap access point and print server. Basically 2 in 1 for cheap.

Cons: I had this unit for about 2 yrs and used as a router performed ok but quit doing routing job.

Other Thoughts: After routing took a dump decided to use it as an access point on my network to increase my wireless range. Also works great as a usb print server for my MFP.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst router I have ever owned

Pros: Gigabit ethernet, price point.

Cons: Router would throttle bandwidth about once a day requiring a reboot sometimes needed resetting to factory defaults. Constantly getting slow speeds, lockups, and terrible signal as well. Streaming was impossible.

Other Thoughts: Save yourself the money and buy a non d-link router becasue this thing is a huge piece of junk. I used to be a loyal d-link buyer but this experience coupled with the fact that I can not find a router with good ratings has changed me. Best $30 paperweight I've bought. Bought an identically spec'd TP-Link router NEW for a similar price and it has been a tank.

5 out of 5 eggsd-link dir-655 REFURBISHED

Pros: -GIGABIT LAN
-3 ANTENNAS

Cons: d-link's configuration is kinda messy and slow but you just gotta play with the settings to get it right. as for n300 speeds

Other Thoughts: Bought this super cheap so didnt expect anything extreme to come out of it but so far the experience has been pleasant. Got this to replace my old linksys wrt54g with dd-wrt. Was a bit buggy at first trying to set this up as an wireless accesspoint. This is a secondary router used at the garage and my main router is the linksys ea2700. Make sure to update to latest firmware right away. Router kept locking up but after the firmware flash everything is pretty smooth. Haven't used a d-link for a long time. last one was the gamer lounge dgl-4300. haven't tested n300 speeds yet because i still have a wireless g adapter. but getting capped 54mbps connection. 30 day refurb warranty, but if it passes a couple of weeks its already worth its cheap price. electronics these days are disposable anyways. don't expect much, but you will be surprised by the results =)

1 out of 5 eggsAwful wireless performance

Pros: Gigabit wireless ports.

Cons: The router constantly looses connection. It does not drop the wireless or wired signal but will not allow traffic to pass through. The only solution is to restart the router. This usually fixes the issue. I am wondering if the firmware has a DNS cashe issue? This does not appear to be an isolated issue as I own 3 of these (2 different hardware versions) and they all suffer from the same issue. I have also tried updating to the most recent firmware with no improvement. The wireless signal strength is also disappointing. I purchased this router to replace a 10 year old D-Link DI-624 with the hopes of an improvement in speed and signal strength but speed remained the same with a decrease in signal strength.

Other Thoughts: I have always had good luck with D-Link products in the past but I will probably look to another brand for my next purchase. This unit has been nothing but headaches since installed. If you are not familiar with trouble shooting I would strongly suggest looking at other products.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap

Cons: These routers may have a nice cheap price point but the connectivity is spotty and the router has to be restarted very often. I updated the firmware on the three i purchased and still the routers have connection issues i do not recommend these regardless of price and specs. These devices are extremely unreliable.

5 out of 5 eggs4 Years and going strong

Pros: I've had this router for 4+ years and it has been working perfectly. This is hardware version A3.

Cons: The only issue I've had was that when running version 1.21 firmware, the check for updates would never find anything beyond 1.21. I just manually updated to version 1.37NA.

Other Thoughts: Has been a solid performer both wired and wireless since it was installed.

2 out of 5 eggsLifespan 6 Months

Pros: Small, runs cool, good WIFI range

Cons: Router should last more than 6 months...

Other Thoughts: Worked fine for 6 months and now it cannot resolve a URL about 20% of the time. The symptom occurs wired and wireless on every computer. A router replacement resolved the issue.

1 out of 5 eggsdon't waste your money!

Pros: It worked for 7 months.

Cons: It only worked for 7 months, which is kind of expensive for the $30 I paid for it.

Other Thoughts: After 7 months it began to fail, and now it needs rebooting on a daily basis. Since this refurbed unit only has a 30 day warranty, I'm out of luck on an RMA and out of $30 for only 7 months of wifi routing. Apparently refurb means temporary...

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME!

Pros: Four of these running as WAP w/ DHCP turned off in all but one & the wifi channels offset by 2 channels ea. Awesome coverage thru out 5k sq ft. building with brick, glass & other normal problems. Super easy to configure and the up time can't be beat. Best router we have ever used. Devices do a great job channel hoping as you move from room to room. zero complaints.

Cons: none. Perfect price point for an awesome product.

Other Thoughts: If you have a large or problematic space you need WIFI, grab these up, lots of articles out there how to make these all work together & they work well.
