4 out of 5 eggsNot bad but...

Pros: Good range, solid design. Wall-mountable.

Cons: The power sockets on two of these went flaky on me, but using PoE still worked.

Other Thoughts: I've had four of these running for many months now and never had to reboot a single one.

2 out of 5 eggsNot for critical applications

Pros: Has standard antenna jacks. Works reasonably well in a single-AP application

Cons: Not compatible with WDS in any other model, including from D-Link. You can only use this in WDS with another DAP2360. Pre-sales at D-Link even told me that it would work in a WDS environment with a DWL-3200AP.

Firmware is incredibly buggy, and certain combinations of configuration options cause instability that requires a reset to factory. D-Link has not released any firmware updates in the 18 months since it was released.

Other Thoughts: Stay the heck away from this thing.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: Excellent signal strength and connection stability compared to the typical consumer wi-fi router solutions. It replaced the wi-fi part of a couple of all-in-one router/wi-fi units and the difference is nigh and day. Stronger signal and completely stable (like being plugged in). I turned off the wireless of the router and connected this AP to the router for the wireless portion.

Cons: None so far, except if you count cost. Yeah, it's more expensive but it's in a different league, so it's worth it to me.

Other Thoughts: I'm just using it as an access point to replace the unsatisfying performance of two different consumer router/wi-fi units. Not using any VLAN, multi-SSID etc. stuff so I can't comment on that, but if you're looking for a better wireless performance for your home network, this is great.

1 out of 5 eggsNot up to the DWL-3200AP's reliability

Pros: Supports multiple SSIDs on different VLANS

Cons: D-Link has never released a firmware beyond 1.0 and this thing has bugs. Sometimes loses ping and acts unreliably after less than 24 hours uptime. This in inexcusable.

Other Thoughts: I chose this for two different clients because of my great experience with the DWL-3200AP. Both clients are having issues with their DAP-2360 and must power cycle them constantly.

5 out of 5 eggsReplaces the old DWL-3200

Pros: These are rugged, will handle many connections at once, POE and have lots of options

Cons: Mount a little tricky to fasten to wall.

Other Thoughts: I am running a half a dozen of the old D-Link DWL-3200AP access points and have found them to be mostly bulletproof if you are in need of a rugged metal case AP. This model adds Wireless-N to the same case and is painted white. The configuration interface is somewhat easier to navigate with this one as well. If you cannot afford Cisco Aironet, then buy these, they are the next best thing.
