5 out of 5 eggsManaged Switch

Pros: Price, got it on sale and also used a discount coupon that I got. The switch cost me less than the price of the D-link unmanaged switch 24 port switch. It's been working on my home network over a month now with no issues. Lifetime warranty.

Cons: The switch is small, it could be mounted in the rack but will be site in the middle, I was expecting a full size Cisco switch. The switch looks more like desktop switch than a rack mountable switch.

Other Thoughts: I was running out of ports in my 8 port unmanaged switch, I was looking to upgrade to a 24 port switch and was waiting for a sale got this on time. The VLAN is very useful since I have to subnets in my home network, by configuring half of ports to VLAN-1 and the rest to VLAN-2, I was able to use this this smart switch for both networks instead of buying two unmanaged switches. There are some features are missing from this switch, but they are no use for me since I am not planning to use them anyway. I had to configure the switch to static with the LAN ip address range first. The D-Link SmartConsole Utility is very useful, if the switch disappear from the network it will find it for you.

5 out of 5 eggssuper easy

Pros: Super easy to install, diagnose, and configure. Just as long as it stands the test of time it was a significant upgrade to our old 10/100 plug and play unmanaged switch.

Cons: I wish it was free

5 out of 5 eggsLegendary Switch

Pros: 24 port 1000BT switch with support for VLANs
Rackmountable
No fans, still runs cool

Cons: They didn't come out with it 5 years ago when I wanted it!

Other Thoughts: I've been buying surplus ethernet switches off auction sites for years (HP, Dell) because I wanted reliability and quality with enterprise features, and I can't afford $1000+ price tags. This is the first switch that meets my needs which I can afford to buy new. It's way easier to use than HP and Dell switches and it runs cool and quiet, plus it probably weighs less than half of those other switches.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid RAM Chips

Pros: No memory faults so far.
Definitely fast enough for light gaming and office applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Quickbooks).

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I put one of these in two computers for a client, and they have worked so far with no fault. The 8GB is more than enough for pretty much any applications.

5 out of 5 eggsGood CPU, Especially for a Budget

Pros: It runs pretty quick for a $99 processor. It handles multitasking business programs (Microsoft Office, Outlook, SkyDrive, Pandora, and Quickbooks) without a hiccup. A very good pick for an office or light gaming computer.

Cons: It runs a little hot with the default heatsink. It may just be the rig though, I only have one external fan. I haven't seen it go over 65C though (~150F), so it's not overheating.

Other Thoughts: I've purchased 3 of these processors in the past month for clients, and all of them have been very pleased with their performance.
