The D-Link DGS-1024A switch features a compact desktop style, which makes it both silent and extremely economical. The Green Ethernet technology ensures more power-savings. It automatically detects link status and powers down idle ports and any ports connected to computers that have been shut down. It also analyzes the length of the ethernet cables to adjust power usage. So the DGS-1024A switch uses less electricity, creates less heat, and lasts longer.

Getting excited? Then check out this switch and get your network up and running!

  • newegg Gigabit on Every Port The 24-Port Unmanaged Gigabit Switch series brings the speed of Gigabit Ethernet to each and every port for a truly high-speed network. You have the latest technology available to every computer and device connected to your network.
  • newegg Innovative Design The sleek plastic case of the DGS-1024A series is an industry first for a Gigabit SOHO/SMB switch. Using a compact desktop style helps reduce heat levels and allow for a fanless design, making the switches silent, as well as economical. The 24-Port Unmanaged Gigabit Switch series is small, lightweight, wall-mountable, and ideal for any business with big needs and a small budget.
  • newegg Conserves Energy The 24-Port Unmanaged Gigabit Switch series helps you conserve energy automatically through several methods. It automatically powers down ports that have no link, allowing the switch to save substantial amounts of power by cutting power usage for unused ports or any ports connected to computers that have been shut down. It can also detect connected cable lengths, and adjusts power usage accordingly, helping you save energy without affecting networking performance.
  • newegg Think Green The DGS-1024A 24-Port Unmanaged Gigabit Switch series makes use of D-Link Green Ethernet technology, providing more energy savings and a longer product life, without sacrificing operational performance or functionality. These environmentally friendly switches are also RoHS compliant, use recyclable packaging, and minimize the use of harmful substances.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent SOHO Gigabit Switch

This review is from: D-Link 16-Port Unmanaged Gigabit Switch

Pros: This switch was easy to set up, in fact it was set and forget which is exactly as it's supposed to be with an unmanaged switch. One huge pro of this specific model is that compared to most other 16 port switches it's very compact. It only took slightly more space (about a half inch taller and an inch or so wider) than the 8 port Netgear switch it replaced.

Cons: The ports are plastic instead of the usual metal. This is mostly a non issue other than when using a shielded cable.

Other Thoughts: I always had good luck with D-Link switches being very reliable. Previously I used a lot of Netgear switches and it seems like a monthly occurrence that one would fail on me. So I replaced them all with D-Link switches. I have yet to have a single one of my D-Link switches fail even after being in service for years and so far this latest addition is working perfectly.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

This review is from: D-Link 16-Port Unmanaged Gigabit Switch

Pros: Cheap 16 Port Gigabit Switch. I'm getting great transfer speeds.

Cons: As previous review mentioned this unit slopes from back to front on top which is unusual and makes stacking things on top of it challenging.

3 out of 5 eggsBad Design

This review is from: D-Link 16-Port Unmanaged Gigabit Switch

Pros: It's a 16 port unmanaged gigabyte switch that isn't a rack mount.

Cons: Bad design for a desktop item. The design is made in a deliberate slop of about 35 degrees. I'm all for fancy but when the device needs to stack other equipment it shouldn't be angled so it needs it's own space.

Other Thoughts: Listen up networking professionals who design networking equipment. The devices should be about utility > looks. In this case this device was made for a desktop environment not a rack mount. The ports are on the back. This is why I bought this switch. These should be designed to stack other routers above them.

I had to use Sugaru (TM) to make standoffs for my Linksys WRT54GL where the LS 16/100 desktop switch stacked natively.
