1 out of 5 eggsLived a short life then crashed my network!

Pros: + Small
+ Added to pile of scrap metal

Cons: - Died after 3 months of light use....
- Failed during the middle of a file transfer

Other Thoughts: Wasn't worth the headache of trying to get a RMA from the manufacturer

5 out of 5 eggsFixed my slow network

Pros: It's very small and no loss of speed when connected to my docsys 3.0 modem. I had an older router which cut my internet speeds in half from 60mbs to 30 mbs. I recently added a new modem and with it came this upgrade shortly afterwards . color coded lights and quick plus price was right.

Cons: None really

Other Thoughts: For Just over $20.00 I am back to sharing my computers and doing so with no loss of speed as I experienced with my previous wireless b router. Very simple not only includes power but virtually hassle free from start to finish. To say I am happy just barely scratches the surface.

5 out of 5 eggsNice switch! Also wall-mountable!

Pros: Metal Case. Durable. Looks Nice.

Really small.

Wall-mountable or desktop. See "Other thoughts..."

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I am so happy to find that this nice little switch is wall mountable, something I was hoping for but did not expect. It comes with some little rubber feet you can stick to the bottom if you're putting it on a desk or shelf, but it also has holes on the back so you can hang it on a couple screws that you would supply. Really nice feature that I did not notice before buying it.

5 out of 5 eggsD-Link GO-SW-5GE 5-Port Unmanaged Gigabit Switch, Metal Case

Pros: 5-Port – Don't know whether I have a newer version or not. The one I received is well designed and very small 3-1/2 x 3 x 1-1/8 inches. Multicolored LEDs indicate speed – green for gig – orange for 10/100.

Cons: None yet!

Other Thoughts: When mounting on the wall, it can be positioned so the LEDs are on top and the ethernet cables plug in the bottom/rear, (cables hang downward – stress-free). The L-shaped power plug is on the side, bottom/rear (it also hangs downward – stress-free).

3 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: Small, Good speeds compared to some so-called gigabit routers. Generally it works well

Cons: Slows down because of heat. But not completely unexpected for gigabit switches. I have mine sitting vertically, which helps a lot. I also put a heat sink on the main chip inside. It works now really well for long sustained loads.
Three eggs because I had to modify a product to perform as listed, it should have performed like that out of the box.

Other Thoughts: Not a con, but a kind of awkward placement of the power port, its on the side. Wall wart transformer can block other devices.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat switch

Pros: -small footprint
-great value when on sale (got mine for $20)

Cons: none at this time

Other Thoughts: I switched out some older 1G switches I had that were slowing my LAN speeds and these units work great. Had them up for a few months now and no problems at all.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little switch

Pros: Bought when they were on sale for $15 each, picked up 2 of them. What can I say? They look good for a switch, and do their job reliably, and stably.

Cons: The power cord is a little short, and the power plug itself being on the side of the unit can be a little awkward, but that's a minor quibble at worst.

Other Thoughts: Both units are working perfectly, wished I'd picked up more while they were on sale.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Switch

Pros: Build quality is great, no problems so far.

Provides full throughput for my 50 MB/s connection. [As a gigabit switch should.]

Cons: Nothing really to complain about.

Other Thoughts: It was simple to set up and has been operating for about 5 months without any issues.
