3 out of 5 eggsNot as fast as advertised.

Pros: Plug in the adapter, plug in the Ethernet cable and your away.

Cons: Sadly and possibly because I live in an old house with old electrical wiring the max speed I got from these was 100m connection. On a speed test with a wifi N I was receiving 60+ down and 5+ up on the powerline adapters I was receiving 12 -18 down and 5 up.

Other Thoughts: They are very easy to use but rely heavily on the quality of your powerlines so be wary if you decide to purchase these.

5 out of 5 eggsDHP-309AV PowerLine AV+ Mini Adapter

Pros: Easy setup. It simply works. I'm using to reach TV to stream and this is much better than the wireless that I was previously using. Can put a switch at the destination end for multiple resources--DTV Tuner, TV, DVD player all attached.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsAn easy way to reach far end of house

Pros: Right out of the box, these refurb adapters were sync'd and ready to go. My modem is by my gaming PC at one end of the house. I was able to get wifi to the other end of the house but it's inconsistent as I have issues w/ interference from neighboring wifi. With these powerline adapters, I'm getting 50+Mbps which more than handles my 16Mbps internet connection.

Cons: Since it generally won't work on a surge protector, I'm concerned about how long it will last with the noisy electricity in my area. Only time will tell but at the price for this refurb kit, I won't mind if I have to buy a replacement or two.

Other Thoughts: It has 10/100Base-TX Ethernet so don't be misled by the 200/500 numbers. While it's great if the devices can communicate w/ each other faster than 100Mbps, the best you'll get is 100Mbps or less. I've tested on 2 different outlets using a LAN network speed testing software and got speeds of 65Mbps and 50Mbps with the faster speed being on an outlet closer to the other adapter. For reference: wired directly to my gigabit router (ie not using these adapters), I get 92Mbps (which is about right given loss due to network protocols).

Understand how powerline adapters work before buying this. Many bad ratings on powerline adapters are from people who don't understand electricity. Most houses have dual phase power which means they have two separate legs of 120V power. Powerline adapters won't work well, if at all, across the two legs. Also noisy appliances (like a refrigerator) near either adapter will be severely impair the connection.

4 out of 5 eggsWork well

Pros: Bought for my Son and his family. Use to stream upstairs to a Blue ray. No set up just plug and play.

Cons: Would be better if smaller. Also don't try to use through a surge protector..dosn't work

Other Thoughts: good deal for the money
