4 out of 5 eggsInternet networking!

Pros: I've had these more than a year, probably close to 2, and I"m here to order more. Right now, I own 5 of them, my house is 2300 SF, and it's the easiest way to network all my computers (4 &1 Security system). I used wireless wi-fi, but because of my plastered walls and double bricking outside, it's hard to pass signals from a wi-fi.

Cons: To this day, none.

Other Thoughts: In the directions, they tell you not to use power-strips etc..., because you will degrade the signal. I found this to be totally true. To get the best connections, make sure, you plug directly into your wall socket, and if possible, plug nothing else into the second plug. Where I do have additional appliances plugged in, they are lamps, etc.. that draws very little amps.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes what it should

Pros: -Made a connection where my wifi didn't reach.
-Easy setup.
-Comes with ethernet cables

Cons: The connection averages at 51 Mbps due to my electrical.

The connection drops hard if my dryer is running. I know this is expected due to the nature of the way homeplug works.

I get 200 megabit if I put it on a different outlet, but it's not where I want it at that point.

Other Thoughts: This product works well enough for my use. Ideally I'd like faster speeds, and maybe next time I'll get a faster base speed. The AV2 gigabit ones seem nice.

1 out of 5 eggsDHP-311AV PowerLine Adapter

Pros: Works out of the box with 2 unit in the system if you only need 2 in your system, the throughput is acceptable to stream 1080 HD movie

Cons: If need more than 2 in the system I did the following to make them work: (I use 4 in the house, all are DHP 311 AV)
1. Update the fimrware (1 unit at a time)
2. set the password in the same room AC outlet first before deployment (see instruction how to set password)

Other Thoughts: I use a laptop and use their software that comes with the unit to update firmware 1 unit at a time, the software does not works well with 4 in the system the same time. If you want this unit to work with more than 2 in a system and does not know how to update firmware, stay away from this version.
