Superior data rates, range and reliability
The AC3150 Ultra Wi-Fi Router comes with a 4x4 data streams which can support faster Wi-Fi speeds. These streams can be combined through beamforming and MU-MIMO to increase reliability and range. This 4x4 AC router is the latest in AC technology, delivering independent data streams to devices on the network for speeds of up to 3,167 Mbps. The AC3150 helps provide the best overall performance to single devices that require high bandwidth such as video streaming or online gaming.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective Product with Terrible Support

Pros: has potential to become a great device after a much needed firmware update

Cons: I was required to update firmware right out of the box to use this device as a range extender. I knew this before purchase and if that was the only issue this product would have received 4 stars.
we disable power to the device overnight while the business is closed. when power is restored in the morning no user is able to connect until I log into the web interface from a wired computer change a setting and power cycle the device. it did not matter what setting was changed and the setting could be changed back after the power cycle without losing accessibility, until the next morning after power was cut and restored. It had become apparent it was an issue with the device or the firmware so i gave D-link tech support a call to address the issue
D-Link Technical support was of no help. After explaining this issues and settings configured I made it very clear I was not a basic user. Tech support continued to ask questions like: is there a device assigning dhcp addresses on your network, does the dlink device have the same address as the default gateway, what port is the Ethernet jack plugged into. did you flip the range extender switch, is the d-link device assigning dhcp at the same time as another device?(FYI: DHCP settings are fully disabled from the device while in range extension mode. not really a con for device functionality but why is tech support asking this question when it is totally impossible in the first place? why do their technicians have no idea about their product functionality?)
I understand they must follow a script of questions to ask but after being escalated to their senior technician the repetitive questions became insulting. Each tech never bothered to read the case notes and asked me the same 20 questions as the predecessor. RMA process is disgusting. the customer must pay for shipping to replace the defective product, which would be understandable if the device wasn't brand new out of the box. It's not the cost of the shipping but the principal to spend extra money on a defective product.

Other Thoughts: this product was purchased to act as an AP in a smaller sized business. We have 10-30 wireless devices connected at any given time but never all simultaneously in use. the mu-mimo technology would have been a great upgrade from our old AP. I will still be looking for different mimo options from different manufacturers.
I will never reccommend a D-Link product to anyone except the worst of my enemies

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Product

Pros: Extremely simple set up. Very user friendly interface. Beautiful piece of equipment. Seems very durable.

Cons: Not really an issue but this router is fairly large compared to your standard home router. It was larger than I imagined but caused no problems.

Other Thoughts: I bought a DIR-655 in 2007 and I never had issues with it, it was one of the best routers I had ever had experience with for a home router for gaming, streaming, and things like that when Wi-Fi became the standard. A modem I received my from internet provider did not communicate with my DIR-655 so I put it in my mom's house but she broke it, but I still remain loyal to D-Link's networking products. I have been using my wife's old Linksys router and now that we're getting a house, I vowed to ditch the Linksys because it was a very cheap router and couldn't keep up with what we do in our home technologically speaking. I returned to D-Link and I am not disappointed. I noticed in immediate difference in our phones data speeds, streaming from the PC to the XBOX One, even our little LG blu-ray smart player jumped on the network and loaded Netflix faster. I believe it's all due to the better wi-fi coverage, everything have it's own channel and also the router can communicate with multiple devices at once. Assuming nothing goes wrong, I will probably use this router for the next decade. Well worth it.

4 out of 5 eggsSweet Wireless Router

Pros: Easy Setup, Pages load super fast, great range

Cons: I got this Router from somewhere else, and its great. Only Drawback is the Power coord is kinda short, so it can't be set up too high or too far from an outlet.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this product to anyone, it is really nice.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product. Easy to Setup.

Pros: I have a noticeably stronger signal all over the house. I also like the full 1000 MB/s speed at 2.4 GHz. Even if you do not yet have an AC device, this is the router you should buy. My N devices work perfectly.

Cons: A bit expensive, but it will set you up for the future.

Other Thoughts: I recommend this product to everyone. Given the choice, I would buy it again.

5 out of 5 eggsA+++ Router - revision (other clients relayed me the wrong info during setup.)

Pros: Excellent constant signal with no lag.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: The other wireless client complained about the video being laggy, however it was just the website. This s a wonderful router and I can't wait for the MU-MIMO Firmware update.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: I set this up as an additional Access Point with my main router being a D-Link 890L. It produces strong Wi-Fi signals for both 2.4 and 5 GHz. I additionally networked two other devices using the rear lan ports. The switch on the back of the router allows you to easily change between router and AP mode. It would have been extremely easy to set it up as a the main router. I'm very pleased with both setup and performance.

Cons: The "Extender" switch on the back is a misnomer. It actually turns the router into an AP rather than a wireless extender. I found this out in a forum on the D-Link site. The instruction manual does not cover its use. Also, MU-MIMO capabilities are not there yet and will be part of a future firmware update.

Other Thoughts: I used the same SSID name and password as my main router and just adjusted the Wi-Fi channels to avoid conflict. Hopefully the cell phone and other devices will automatically adjust to the strongest signal as needed. No other adjustments were needed after I switched mode on the back of the router. Also, unlike a signal extension, it has to be hard wired to the network to act as an AP. That makes for a strong Access Point signal.
