1 out of 5 eggsBad, very bad

Pros: none

Cons: Made pc run slow when plugged in. Lost connection after 5-10 mins.

Other Thoughts: Stay Away! Bought this for a bluRay PC build and noticed when it was plugged in it would slow my pc and make the BluRay movie skip.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well enough for me

Pros: Decent signal 25' thru 3 walls from my standard consumer grade Netgear router product.
No drops or bandwidth issues. 54 Mpbs constant unless moved. Software is ok, no problems. Works with Zone Alarm Pro.

Cons: Nothing remarkable about this product.

Other Thoughts: Nearly interchangeable with 2505 in XP SP2. I own both, so its nice to plug in whichever one is at hand.
Using for internet including downloads, no lag, no surprise there, but haven't tested with very large files over network.

Average product at a good price AR + free shipping.
Uses Marvell 88W8338 + 88W8010 chipset.
Received both previous rebates even with an item substitution. (the 2505 for the 2502)

4 stars instead of 3 for average because this works where other brands have been lousy.

Orientation is important. Use an extension to your dependable rear ports and get it high, pointing diagonally down to your router. Sticking out of the computer may not be the best place. 1 computer case with electronics = ~3 walls? Too close isn't good either.

Too bad I can't be critical of Newegg if I feel it's justified.
They should trust me to be intellectually honest. Oh well, I've been a steady customer for about a year now with no complaints.

1 out of 5 eggsOK card, bad rebate

Pros: OK card.

Cons: This company has terrible rebate practices. If they happen to offer a rebate, be advised that while 5 different products may be listed on the rebate form, you can only receive a rebate for one. I bought quite a bit of Zonet products until they started this.

Other Thoughts: This is the only company that I've seen that plays these games - at least they're making money for another company by making me switch.

2 out of 5 eggsstay away

Pros: cheap and got the rebate.

Cons: It doesn't work at all. Um, no, it may connect for a while, then stop working. If you want it work again, unplug it. then repeat and repeat. I am not an expert, but not that stupid, try it in several PC, same problem.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product

Pros: Easy to setup, good distance, compatible with many wireless routers

Cons: Need disk to install driver and software. Would be nice if it possible to load from the usb stick.

Other Thoughts: Can't really go wrong, good product at a great price.

1 out of 5 eggsdont buy

Pros: It works with my Fedora Core 7 linux box....

Cons: Connection will break every once a while whether its windows or linux.....poor reception......also yes if I try downloading bigger files this thing goes crazy and craps out in the middle of download. Thanks to those download agents and bit-torrents ..they are smart enough to figure out and start it from where it left out.

Other Thoughts: wish I had read reviews before buying this piece of junk....i worked on it so hard to get started on linux and now it craps out so often.....

2 out of 5 eggsKeeps disconnecting

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Does not stay connected

Other Thoughts: I would only use this in a pinch. I had an issue with my on-board NIC and thought this would work as a wireless replacement. The PC is litterally 5 feet from the router and still doesn't get superb reception. But it did connect, and seemed to work OK. For a few hours...then I'd try to pull up a web page only to have it time out. Funny, the utility said I was still connected. Tried to do an ipconfig /release /renew - no go, timed out waiting for DHCP server. Nothing you could do but pull it from the USB slot and plug it back in. Then it would work. For a few hours...repeat.

Cons: Ordered 2 for different customer needs. Both were dead out of the box.Its too bad because the older model was extremly reliable.Oh and just to be sure we did test these on 4 different machines with no luck

Other Thoughts: none
