5 out of 5 eggsCheap router is a winner

Pros: Never got into the detailed functioning of this router but setup and remote access are fairly easy. I have owned this for several years already and do not forsee the need to replace it any time soon. It's on 24/7 365 for going on 5 years now as I bought this back in 09. Range is decent I get a signal completely outside my house to the street and throughout my backyard. Wireless printer set up in the back of the house and router in the front, I've never had a signal issue, except when I accidentally blocked it with a pile of stuff and it was under my couch.

Cons: It only has 4 LAN ports, but wifi supports more than enough items.

Other Thoughts: I think this is a really good buy, it works, it's got network security, range is good, it's a winner that works well and I'm getting a Zoom modem to test the limits on this particular router and see if it breaks at 60MBps.

4 out of 5 eggsGenerally a great router

Pros: - Stable connection speeds
- Switch functionality works properly
- Has dropped wireless connections only maybe twice in about a year and a half; very reliable piece of equipment.
- Price! So cheap. Truly a great value.

Cons: Only a couple things:
- Has at times randomly stopped broadcasting the wireless SSID... I think 3 times in a year and a half. A hard reset fixes this.
- Port forwarding does not work properly; setting up an SSH server on a non-standard port behind this thing's NAT firewall seems to be impossible, as it appears the settings screen for configuring this does not actually affect any router settings.
- Sad that this router is discontinued; Zonet went under, so now there will truly be no customer support.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this has been a great router. I am a computer science student and am very tech-savvy. This provides basically all the simple and advanced functionalities of the big-brand routers. Apparently it seems that quite a few of these, via the reviews here, are bad; it could also be that the directions for setup are just horrendous, which I can attest to. The manual is not very layman-friendly, and neither is the router's web interface.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk

Pros: its small, its cheap.

Cons: just about everything. for me, it was easy to setup but looking at the GUI, i'm sure novice users will have problems.

My issue with this router is it is unstable. you can ping it for about 4 minutes then it will drop and power cycle itself. I checked the power supply, the voltage is on target then i opened up the router case and found 2 capacitors that are leaking in the power supply region on the board.

Other Thoughts: It's not worth my time to RMA the unit it only cost me 15 bucks. This router was supposed to be designated for the parental unit cause she dont need anything fancy. I just bought a more expensive router for her and its stable.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works perfect. I'm using this as a wireless adapter (client) for my son's XBOX 360 to connect to our wireless network. Easy to set-up. Reliable: I haven't had to touch it since I initially set it up.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Cheap, works great, easy to set up. I received the router, hooked it up, ran through a quick setup that is a wizard on the router firmware, and I was up and running in less than 10 minutes. Best value for the price.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: No need to go with another router. This one doesn't support 802.11n, but then who needs that unless you're setting up a local network and do a lot of data transfer between local computers. 802.11b data rates are more than my internet provider can give me and this one supports b and g.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Router

Pros: It works. Fast. Small. Looks good.

Cons: I tried setting up a home server with a LAN line coming from the router. I used the router's settings to open the necessary ports but was never able to establish the connection through the router. I wound up just bypassing the router for that one machine I'm using as a server.

Other Thoughts: For a few more dollars you can buy a router with N technology but until your internet connection exceeds 100 mbps I fail to see why you would need. Maybe if your sending huge files to your wireless printer. This one works extremely well for me.

4 out of 5 eggsGood router

Pros: Cheap
good signal
works

Cons: Confusing to set up

Other Thoughts: This router works good but it was a real pain to get it to work. I have a windows 7 computer and the directions are for computers with windows vista at the best. Vista and 7 look a lot a like as in the control panels but the directions don't show a windows vista control panel they show a windows xp one so I had to do it on a xp computer. So if you don't have a windows xp computer don't buy it especially if you don't know much about wireless routers.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not get

Pros: Small

Cons: Impossible to set up, super short power adapter, just a cheap waste of time

Other Thoughts: Its not worth the headache, I have above average tech knowledge, and i have spent hours trying to get this dumb thing to work, but no matter what i do i cant get any wifi from it. It has got to a point i just dont care any more. All this is is a cheap piece of poopy. Just remember the old saying, if it looks too good to be true it probably is. I $15 router is going to perform like a $15 router. Wether you have a four story house or studio apartment, this is NOT for you
