1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy this card!

Pros: cheap

Cons: Extremely high mortality rate

Other Thoughts: I bought 3. Within a week 1 was dead. RMA'd it, got the new one back from Zonet. It was dead within 3 weeks. fun thing is when it dies, the realtek chip appears to short, get so hot you can't touch it, and keep the computer from booting. Luckily it doesn't appear to have fried my PCI bus on my MB.

2 out of 5 eggsBlue screen of death depending on the slot

Pros: +Inexpensive
+Performs well (if it performs at all)

Cons: The card would crash Windows XP with a blue screen of deathn when I first installed the card and the supplied drivers.
I then went online for newer drivers, same problem.
Next I switched the card to a different PCI slot and it finally worked. However the latest drivers from Zonet don't even display the correct product name :-(

Other Thoughts: Overall a poor experience. The time wasted getting it to work outweighs the low cost.

1 out of 5 eggsI guess you get what you pay for...

Pros: The first one was very cheap (< $10). The second one I ordered 13days ago was $15. They worked... for awhile.

Cons: The first one ran from late Jan to this evening <3mos. In spite of being on a good surge protector, and nothing else in the house was effected (tivo, 4 pc's, 2 laptops, variety of av equip), a power outage tonight toasted it. Driver wouldn't load, and although it was detectable by OS, reinstalling drivers failed until I threw in the extra zonet card bought for another box.

Other Thoughts: It's pretty clear that in this case you get what you pay for. Sincerely under-engineered. The only good news is that once the current one dies I'll only be out $xx or so.

2 out of 5 eggsnot worth the risk...

Pros: It was fast, back when it worked.

Cons: Not the best quality. I bought 3, 2 were dead within 6 months.

Other Thoughts: Replaced all 3 with D-Link DGE-530T gigabit cards and I am a much happier camper the last 8 months.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Intalled it under Windows XP and Linux Centos 4. No problems.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I don't have it hooked up to a Gigabit switch, only 100. So I have not tested throughput.

2 out of 5 eggsDead after 2 weeks

Pros: Fast and cheap, but for a price...

Cons: This card died after 2 weeks of light/moderate use.

Other Thoughts: The full duplex was rockin my socks off for a while, then I got some crazy error tooltip in Windows 2003 and it's speed showed as 10mb/s. Pssh. It didn't even get 1 bit a second - It was dead. I put it in different PCI slots and different computers, but to no avail.
I will call for RMA tomorrow

5 out of 5 eggsGood Buy

Pros: Cheap, fast, and so far reliable. Provides drivers for all the OSs you could need. Linux drivers built without a problem and Windows... well windows is basically plug and play.

Cons: No drivers for 2.6.x kernel yet :(

Other Thoughts: Had the card for a few days, so far so good. Negotiates at 1000/full no problem. Good purchase.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Unreliable

Other Thoughts: I needed 4 network cards so I figured I would buy cheap ones. Two of the network cards quit connecting at 1 gbps and have finally failed completely, the third one is acting up now and I am assuming it will fail. I downloaded the latest driver from Zonet to hopefully fix the problem but Windows will not recognize the driver (Card probably toast). I will RMA these and buy higher quality cards. I did not save much money with this purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsGood and Fast

Pros: With the right Cat 5E cable and the 10/100/1000 network hub, the rating speed goes up to 1Gig/Sec!!!! so fast that I have to change the main frame old Nic card to match the speed of this Zonet Zen3300E.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you get the right or good cable and the right hub to gain speed.
