The IOGEAR Bluetooth USB Micro Adapter offers Bluetooth connectivity at a fraction of the size of normal Bluetooth USB adapters. About the size of an adult fingernail, the IOGEAR Bluetooth USB Micro Adapter allows users to connect to all the latest Bluetooth devices like cell phones, PDAs, mice and keyboards. Because the Micro Adapter is so small you can easily plug it into your computer without blocking any surrounding USB ports. The Micro Adapter also features Bluetooth EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) technology for transfer rates that are 3 times faster than traditional Bluetooth 1.1 and 1.2 adapters.

The Micro Adapter allows users to connect up to seven Bluetooth devices together and transfer even the largest files quickly and easily. With the Micro Adapter's lower power consumption, you can enjoy longer battery life on your notebook computer. This Bluetooth Class 2 adapter is compatible with both Mac and PC computers, and offers a wireless range of 30 feet (10 meter). It is great for both home and mobile networking needs.

  • newegg Rich-Featured Bluetooth Adapter The IOGEAR GBU421 Bluetooth adapter turns any computer with a USB port into a Bluetooth enabled computer with up to 30 ft wireless range and the ability of connecting up to 7 Bluetooth devices. It supports Bluetooth EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) for up to 2.1Mbps data transfer - 3x faster than Bluetooth 1.1 or 1.2, Advanced Audio Distribution (A2DP) for stereo wireless streaming and built-in security to assure the privacy of your communication-pairing, encryption, and authentication.
  • newegg Tiny Adapter At the size of a coin, the IOGEAR GBU421 adapter can be plugged in and stay connected to your computer unobtrusively, without block neighbouring USB ports.

5 out of 5 eggsSteady connection

Pros: Very good connection and distance.
Easy install.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is a second one for my 2nd PC. I have had one for over a year and decided to install one on another PC (My HTPC).
I am using an extension USB cable so the reciever has a better line of sight.

2 out of 5 eggsTerrible Audio

Pros: Easy to Install. Make sure you don't use included CD. Per their web site download from their support forum and throw the CD away.

Cons: On Windows 7 the audio quality is terrible. Headsets work fine with all other devices except this one. Lots of background static coming from PC.

Other Thoughts: Cheap and devices connect to it ok. Need to fix the audio driver problem. Audio streaming through it is awful.

Manufacturer Response:

First, thank you for choosing IOGEAR and we apologize for your experience. The product should not behave as you described. The problem you are describing can usually be corrected with audio settings on your PC. I would also recommend trying the Driver for the GBU521 located on the IOGEAR website. http://www.iogear.com/support/dm/driver/GBU521#display This driver works very well with the GBU421 Please contact our customer service at email: support@iogear.com and let us know in more detail on when and how you’re having this experience. We strive to ensure our customers are serviced with a properly working unit to exceed your satisfaction. Again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it's supposed to

Pros: Dual booting Win7 Ultimate and Linux. Works in both without issue. In Win7, I did download the newest drivers from IO Gear's website.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This thing is small and unobtrusive. Just as it should be.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great! Very Easy with Ubuntu

Pros: Plugged it in and just watched the icon appear in the panel. No problems. 30 seconds later I'm streaming music to my motorola headphones.

Cons: Dropped it and almost lost it.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a bluetooth adapter that is easy to use with linux, this one is just plug and go.

5 out of 5 eggsWORKS GREAT!

Pros: Works just fine with my Targus bluetooth wireless mouth. I wouldn't install the disc that come with it. Go to there website and download the latest drivers. Look for GBU321/GBU421, they have drivers for windowsxp, vista, 7, 32bit 64bit. Just had to add the device from the taskbar and there was a button on the bottom of the mouse to searc and find the bluetooth device.

Cons: None, so far.

1 out of 5 eggsProbably defective

Pros: couldnt tell ya.. small?

Cons: won't connect to anything

Other Thoughts: Spent hours trying to figure out why nothing wouldnt connect, tried bluesoleil, windows stack, and iogears support drivers... still nothing, unfortunate because i actually spent time trying to find a reliable one.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Very small and inexpensive. Lights up when on with soft blue light. (Not the usual LEDs often used these days that could be confused with a laser for cutting holes in steel, bouncing off the moon or just plain blinding you)

Cons: Instructions just a little confusing spread oddly across one giant page. Windows 7 is very easy, but I can see how windows XP people might have trouble.

Other Thoughts: Bluetooth on anything but an Apple device can be very annoying. Friend who uses a 3year old Apple notebook with bluetooth still amazed how PC's often do not come with bluetooth even now.

1 out of 5 eggsWhat a nightmare.

Pros: Pros? Hmm, I'll let ya know if I can get my money back. That would be a pro.

Cons: You will never get back the time you waste trying to make this work "as advertised".

Other Thoughts: I spent hours trying to make this work and could find no solutions.
Follow the instructions with the device?
Bluetooth Device not detected.
Follow instructions on their site?
Bluetooth Device not detected.
Follow tech supports instructions?
Bluetooth Device not detected.
Spend hours scouring the internet, updating registries, running clean install of all drivers?
Bluetooth Device not detected.
Tell them its still not working after doing everything they said?
"You must be installing it wrong. Since it works on windows XP, the device is working as advertised. Good day."

No joke. They actually told me I wasn't following their instructions and closed my ticket.

Do yourself a favor and buy anything BUT iogear.

Manufacturer Response:
