1 out of 5 eggsWorks for a month

Pros: Good distance and works great in the beginning. After a month, now I'm getting static and slow transfer rate. And it's not my computer since I just upgraded to i7. Plus, I have bought another Bluetooth dongle and it works great. The software that came with it is not bad. Cheap.

Cons: Lasts for a month. Of course the warranty already expired. Too cheap. I guess you get what you paid for right?

Other Thoughts: Spend a bit more to get better one.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and sorry about your experience.

The Bluetooth dongle comes with its own software and it may conflict with your OS or other applications. You may try to use the built-in driver from Microsoft. For further assistance, please call IOGEAR at 1 (866) 946-4327, email us at, or do live chat with IOGEAR support. You may request a call tag if you receive a defective unit.

Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

5 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly versatile, impressively durable.

Pros: This little dongle gives me way more options than the integrated chip in my Dell laptop. Instead of just a handsfree headset, I can now use the laptop as an audio gateway and listen to the music on my phone, plus other stuff I haven't used as much.
For a while, I used this to sync my laptop with my phone so I could use my headset as... well, a headset. I get limited reception in my apartment and was pleased when I could put my phone up on a shelf where I had plenty of signal and talk from anywhere in my apartment though this and my wireless USB headset.
And talk about durable! I left it in my jeans when my wife washed them, but when she sheepishly handed it to me with a deep groove carved into one side of the plastic (what kind of washer/dryer does that, anyway?), I plugged it in and it worked! And not just barely functioned, either; it worked as perfectly as on the day I opened the package. Very impressive... And all the more so because it looks like it was run over by a lawn mowe

Cons: It's pretty bulky sticking out the side of my laptop. That's about it.

Other Thoughts: I got this before I realized how easy it was to install an internal adapter in my Latitude D630. I'm still glad I bought it, though, if only for the extra functionality it provides when I need it.
Wish I'd gotten it from Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is one of only a handful of USB bluetooth adaptors with Vista 64 drivers! Yes, i did the homework and found it out through hours of research on forums and windows compatibility sites. If you are getting this to hot sync a palm based device with Vista 64, this works! No need to install the extra drivers included with the hardware. Just plug and Vista 64 will install all the drivers you need.

Cons: Nope.

Other Thoughts: Buy it. It does its job.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I think the biggest pro of this item is that I was able to download the latest drivers for it which are compatible with Vista x64 straight from IOgear's web site. I've had absolutely no compatibility issues with devices or Vista x64.
To make things even better I had no issues with this device in Ubuntu Linux 7.10 or Hardy Heron 8.04 beta.

Cons: it was not free.

Other Thoughts: Try syncing a bluetooth headset to your computer. Works great for Ventrilo and other VOiP applications.

5 out of 5 eggsworks like a charm

Pros: works great with my logitec mx5000 keyboard and mx1000 mouse.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: i bought this at walmart(didn't feel like waiting for shipping) to replace the poor quality receiver that came with my keyboard and mouse.

this is not recomended for transfering files between computers. the data transfer rates on bluetooth are poor.

i suggest blue tooth for those who want to set up a printer/mouse/keyboard etc and not interfere with their wireless network they already have setup.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great with skype

Pros: I just bought one of these puppies so I could use my Plantronics Voyager 520 with Skype. I basically ignored the manual and downloaded the latest software directly from broadcom. Worked like a charm. There's even the option of it integrating into skype in the control panel. Setup was painless. Works Great. People on the other end say it sounds crystal clear.

Cons: None that I can think of.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent, make sure u can troubleshoot

Pros: Skype headset works great! Decent range, 33 ft as advertised, seems 100% stable, rock solid, works in the pictbridge of my HP photoprinter. Worked with every BT device 1.1,1.2, and 2.0 device i threw at it

Cons: A tad expensive, u can get better for the price. Either class one or better range. Annoyed cause the driver was dated 2005 had to update via IOgear web. The 2005 driver hijacked the entire audio system and transmitted to my moto h670 headset when connected. But then i liked that feature, the new 5.1 drivers force u to set the audio output manually.

Other Thoughts: I love USB BT 2.0 devices. they are so versitile its scary. Good solid device, but for the price, u could grab 3 trendnets wtih better range.

3 out of 5 eggsPretty decent

Pros: Simple installation and interface.

Cons: Lacks many features.

Other Thoughts: Eventually everything will be bluetooth and devices like this will be a necessity. But in the mean time, dont buy this if your looking to simply transfer data. Best used for other things like keyboards and mice.

2 out of 5 eggsLook Elsewhere

Pros: Product is easy to connect and install if you are running a simple network. is great!!!

Cons: IOGear's support leaves a great deal to be desired. I installed this device to use with my Palm Tungsten E2. HotSync through the Virtual Serial port works fine. However, the Network Access (allowing you to connect to the internet through your PC) does not work. I downloaded the most recent drivers and (suprise) this feature is not included. I submitted three requests to IOGear and yet to hear back from them.
