5 out of 5 eggsWD never disappoints

Pros: 1) Plug and Play. I just plugged one end to my router and the other to my computer in another room.

2) getting 90 Mbps which is great for anything I do and I have them both plugged into a surge protector(Not recommend per WD). You can probably get better speeds plugging it directly into an outlet.

3) My grandma can step this up that's how easy it is.

Cons: Just TWO and that's the other reviews I see on here. Really people? It's just plug and play not that hard. Also if you’re not getting the speeds you want have you checked your router and or Internet PROVIDER? Also it’s not a media player just a NETWORK POWERLINE!!! It's not going to play avi files or any other file in that nature. If you want that go with the WD LIVE TV (which I also own).

Other Thoughts: I love this product and will recommend it to all my friends and co-workers. If you want to play media files on your TV through a Hard Drive or wireless from your computer I would also recommend the WD LIVE TV which play's many formats and also streams Netflix and etc.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks but not with others

Pros: Connected easily to my router
Speeds are good.

Cons: cannot get this powerline adapter to work at the same time as my netgear HD powerline adapter, which it's instructions say are compatible with each other.

Other Thoughts: I now have two good powerline adapters which wont work together.

5 out of 5 eggsDon't fight with WiFi - Order this.

Pros: Even my wife could have installed this. Just plug in both units and hook them us to the modem and other computer and it works. I have been fighting WiFi problems with a range extender for over a year so decided to try these. I could kick myself for waiting this long to do it.

I haven't measured the speed, but can tell you it is at least twice as fast as the WiFi with the range extender. I used this with my laptop and can't find a single outlet in the house where it will not work.

I may order a couple more of these for other rooms in the house.

Cons: The supplied Cat Cables are a little short, so if you need some distance between where you will have the units and the modem/computer, just measure and order a longer cable when you order the units. Cables are cheap.

Other Thoughts: Try this and you will never look back at WiFi again.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: Product allowed me to move my office into another building on my property. It was on the same power circuit and travels through 4 breakers to get there. The other building is about 50 yards from my home. I just plugged it in and it worked flawlessly. The speed will stream netflix without any problems. Wireless has always been very flaky and slow, this appears to of solved my problems. It also has 4 cat 5 plugs to plug other items into.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great - buy 2!

Pros: Very easy to set up, overall took me about 20 min to figure it out since I bought two kits to get 4 remote network outlets throughout the house. I plugged in all 4 boxes direct to the wall (don't use power strip) very close to the computer. I made a simple spreadsheet noting my assigned "nicknames" for each device that I desired, the MAC address, and the passwords that can be found on the back of each unit. I then used the included WD Livewire utility to name the devices and put all 4 boxes on the same network. Once they were set connected, I unplugged them and distributed through the house where I wanted them and they work great! (so far... only been connected for about 24 hrs). Will report back if I have any issues.

Cons: None that I can tell

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It worked right out of the box in a house built in 1945. The data rate is good enough to play 720p quality mkv and mp4 over the network.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly

Pros: Simple set up took about 5 minutes. Works exactly as I need. I didnt test the speed ratings but its perfect for general surfing and setting up a PC, it more than met my expectations. My house was built in '93 and no issues.

Cons: None for me.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great, Very Happy

Pros: Much faster than wifi
Much more reliable than wifi
No need to tear apart my walls or ceilings.
Low ping allows online gaming and YouTube viewing.
Low price makes this a no-brainer if you need more speed than wifi.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Decided to give this a try to connect our basement PC (3.2 GHz Phenom II, 4GB DDR3, Asus m/b) to internet after fiddling around with wifi for 3 months (unsuccessfully). Wifi signal was always weak & unreliable in the basement and many times internet access simply dropped out altogether. Setup was laughably simple, but I recommend that you purchase two long (10') ethernet cables so that you'll have more flexibility in placing the units in a convenient location. The kit comes with ethernet cables that are much too short.

I was shocked when I first set this up because my expectations were very low. For starters, I didn't think it would work. At all. Imagine my surprise when I got consistent ~1.7Mbps download speeds, 25ms ping times, and zero connection dropouts. This is fast enough for my kids to play multiplayer Team Fortress 2 online without ANY lag, and also fast enough for us to watch YouTube videos without buffering/stuttering. Neither of these things were possible on this PC before with wifi.

As you've probably guessed by now, I couldn't be happier with this purchase, and I've recommended this exact kit to a colleague at the office who has his HDTV & Blu-ray player hooked up to wifi with bad results. This kit will change that for him in a hurry. I'm even thinking about picking up another one of these so that I can connect my laptop.

If you're on the fence about buying this, don't be. Just give it a whirl like I did and I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results. And no, I don't work for Western Digital or Newegg. BTW, Newegg rocks for hardware like this because you're getting the best possible price and a bunch of reviews from people like me who have actually used this stuff and can provide unbiased opinions.

Unbelievably Easy Installation

5 out of 5 eggs
Installation could not be easier. Plug it in, and it works. The 4 port hub is also a plus.

Great with some possible quirks.

4 out of 5 eggs
Very easy to setup. Additional ports reduce need to add switches. Much better throughput than the older Powerline devices. ...
