5 out of 5 eggsworks great

Pros: This switch is the replacement for the end of life one, if you check out cisco web site you will see this is a current product. "CT" replaces the "C" model.
Just plug and go, no fussing with it. replaced TRENDnet TEG-S80G Switch 8-Port Gigabit GREENnet 10/100/1000 Mbps with Cisco switch. Cisco is much faster, can now stream 1080p video from media center where before it would break up or lose sound.

Cons: price could be less... but otherwise it's a great product.

Other Thoughts: I still have a trendnet in remote room that connects to the cisco switch that still has problem with streaming. Someday need to do something about it too. Bought this along with ASUS RT-N56U Wireless Router Dual Band N600. At first had problem with accessing routers setup page as it's IP address wouldn't show but the motorola cable modem would. Fixed problem with everything connecting to switch then wire to router then to modem. Now IP address of both is accessable. Bit this was a router based problem, not the cisco switch problem.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Switch - Blew away D-Link !

Pros: Plug it in and move on ! No problems what so ever !
Speed on everything I have connected to this switch improved in comparison to the switch I replaced.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I replaced my D-Link DGS-1024D with this switch and noticed a HUGE improvement ! This is NOT an "end of life" model. This is the current model, which is the recommended replacement for the now discontinued "SR2024C". This current model is the SR2014CT-NA .

3 out of 5 eggsResponse to Previous Feedback

Pros: I don't have a review for this product yet per se but I wanted to respond to the feedback below stating that this product was end-of-lifed by Cisco. If I am reading the notice correctly, this product is the replacement for the product that is being end-of-lifed. The product being discontinued was the SR2024C and this product SR2024CT is the replacement. Unless, like I said, I am reading the notice incorrectly.

Cons: None yet

1 out of 5 eggsWhy is this still being sold if EOLed!

Pros: It WAS probably a great switch ... but ...

Cons: This product has been end of lifed by Cisco back in 2010!

So, how can NewEgg possibly honor the 1 year extended warranty?
Isn't that the point of buying these more expensive business class switches? We just bought this item, Cisco has documents telling customers to migrate from this product.

Unfortunately, I did not realize that before I recommended someone to buy this item from NewEgg. From now on I will make sure I am careful about buying products from NewEgg. We have been through a lot the past couple of weeks and this was the last thing we needed right now.

Other Thoughts: Please please please at least put a note near the product letting customers know that this is EOLed by the manufacturer.
We are going to find out anyway....

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Silent
Works flawlessly
Power consumption
Small footprint

Cons: A little pricey for the home user
No management interface, but this is probably a Pro too :-)

Other Thoughts: I know UPS deserves a lot of credit, but I'm still impressed with newegg getting something like this to me in 1 business day for free.

So much better than the netgear 1Gb switch I got tired of listening to as the fan escalated.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggslove it, about to get a 2nd

Pros: For $240, you have an entire small office at gigabit speed

Cons: For $240, there are no cons. It does what it was designed to do, and it does it well.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent small network switch

Pros: Near wire-speed network traffic on gigabit Ethernet ports. Sync-up with various brands of gigabit Ethernet ports on attached equipment. Very solid construction with INTERNAL 120v power supply eliminates the challenges of power bricks.

Cons: Simple web-based management would have been a plus, but was not expected in an Ethernet switch in this value price range.

Other Thoughts: This switch replaced another brand gigabit switch and provided a 2x throughput increase. We will buy more of these for internal use and recommend them to customers for workgroup, departmental, and branch office settings. Used together with IP routers for proper network segmentation, these switches could be used in place of much more expensive managed switches.

5 out of 5 eggsAs advertised

Pros: Purchased for our small business and the fact it supports QoS and gigabit ethernet. Using about 15 of the 25 ports. Have not experienced any performance issues.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Using with the Linksys WRVS4400N router. Utilizing this switch for our virtual PBX IP phones and computer network. We're setup with Windows Home Server for file sharing and backup across the network all while actively using the IP phones.
