5 out of 5 eggsGood Layer 2 for VLAN

Pros: This is a very good switch for VLAN, I use with IP Phones and Data on seperate VLANs, the 4 extra ports make it a 52 port unit and that has come in handy more than once. I have 10 of these, SF200 and SF300 are both good units.

Cons: Does not do my laundry.

Other Thoughts: I use these because they have a lifetime warranty.

3 out of 5 eggsFirmware update

Pros: some good features like power LED flashing for DHCP ip address

Cons: The firmware on the device is V1.0.X, Must upgrade to V1.1 from Cisco website to support full CLI.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi N/A,

We’re sorry to hear about your issue with the firmware. It’s possible we updated the firmware for the SF300-08 soon after your purchase. In case you haven’t already, here’s where you can find the most recent software: http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/type.html?mdfid=283019670&flowid=18908. Thanks for your feedback.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Midrange Switch

Pros: Great switch. Lots of features. Lots of control

Cons: Whoever programmed the Serial interface didn't follow the standards I'm used to when it comes to logging in. Be sure to hit TAB rather than enter after the username to get to the password field. I'm used to hitting enter and then being prompted for a password. Wasted about 30 mins trying to figure this one out...

Other Thoughts: So far I'm happy with this switch. It powers our PoE IP phones and Pakedge WAP-C3N AP's just fine.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Balamt,

Thank you for the positive comments. We are glad you are overall happy with the switch. If you need additional help, feel free to visit our support community specifically for Small Business Products: http://www.cisco.com/go/smallbizsupport) and via Twitter (@CiscoSBsupport)

Thanks,
