The Cisco 200 Series SLM2024T-NA Smart Gigabit Switch combines powerful network performance, reliability and all essential network management features you need for a solid business network. It speeds up file transfer rate, extends wireless operation range, helps improve slow and sluggish networks, and keeps your vital business applications available. It boasts an array of security features to maintain a high level of security for your business. It provides basic management and quality-of-service (QoS) features beyond those of an unmanaged or consumer-grade switch, at a lower cost than managed switches.

Additionally, its simple-to-use web-based utility and an array of exclusive Cisco features – like Cisco Discovery Protocol, and Cisco Smartports etc., enable you to easily deploy, manage, and troubleshoot your network. It’s energy efficient and eco-friendly.

Note: The SLM2024T-NA Smart Gigabit Switch includes 24 x RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, 2 x RJ-45 uplink connectors and 2 x mini-GBIC expansion slots.

  • newegg High-speed connectivity Whether you need basic high-speed connectivity for your computers and servers or a comprehensive voice, data, and wireless technology solution, the SLM2024T-NA Gigabit Switch meets all your business needs. It can quickly and securely connect employees working in small offices with one another and with all of the servers, printers, and other devices they use. The high-speed connectivity helps speed file transfers and data processing, improve network uptime, and keep your employees connected and productive. Moreover, it can work with Cisco and third-party wireless solutions to extend the reach of your network. Employees can work productively from conference rooms and common areas, collaborate in any office, and access business applications from wherever they are.
  • newegg Maximum network security The SLM2024T-NA Gigabit Switch provides security and network management features you need to maintain a high level of security for your business, keep unauthorized users off the network, and protect your business data. It provides integrated network security to reduce the risk of a security breach, with IEEE 802.1X port security to control access to your network. The denial-of-service (DOS) attack prevention increases network uptime in the presence of an attack.
  • newegg Unified communications The SLM2024T-NA Gigabit Switch includes QoS features to allow you to prioritize delay-sensitive traffic in your network and let you converge all of your communications solutions - such as IP telephony and video surveillance - onto a single Ethernet network. It provides native support for IPv6 alongside traditional IPv4. That means you can take full advantage of IPv6-enabled operating systems and applications in the future, without having to upgrade your network equipment.
  • newegg Easy configuration and management The SLM2024T-NA Gigabit Switch is easy to deploy and use by small businesses or the partners that serve them. Cisco Discovery Protocol and Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP-MED) automatically detect all the devices connected to your network and then automatically configure themselves for the appropriate connectivity and instruct the devices to use appropriate voice VLAN or QoS parameters. Cisco Smartports technology provides for more advanced capabilities and hands-on control by automatically configuring ports with specific levels of security, QoS, and availability according to the type of connected device, based on Cisco best practices and pretested configurations. The Cisco FindIT Network Discovery utility offers simple-to-use web-based interfaces for easy network deployment, management and troubleshooting.
  • newegg Energy efficient The SLM2024T-NA Gigabit Switch is designed to be energy efficient and eco-friendly without compromising performance. It can automatically power down on Gigabit Ethernet ports when a link is not active. The support for Energy-Efficient Ethernet improves the efficiency of network equipment, and provides standardized signaling mechanisms, which can enable rapid transitions between normal operation and low power idle (LPI) states in systems on either end of the physical layer link. The embedded intelligence helps adjust power based on cable length. The fanless design reduces power consumption, increases reliability, and provides quieter operation.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat

Pros: I've used many of the 200 and 300 switches. After they got rid of the "linksys" versions, these have been great. No issues.

Cons: No snmp on 200 series.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet Switch

Pros: No 1: it's quiet. Bought this to replace its 24 port predecessor that had 3 small fans on the left side (one fan was failing, getting noisy - although the switch itself was just fine). I use this in a home network and the noise in the rack is now all but gone. No 2: nice feature set; good value; No 3: rack mountable, hardware included. No 4: easy to install / setup.

Cons: Not quite as "commercial / industrial" as its predecessor --

Other Thoughts: Its a little green-er: more energy efficient and probably uses less material in the build, so overall it's a little more eco-friendly.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Switch

Pros: Very nice and very fast switch.
perfect for Small business.

I use this switch at work and for my home network and it runs perfectly.

Cons: Vlans are a bit confusing but then I and not a CCNA so it could be me not understanding

Other Thoughts: On the GUI Slowness I notice that if you use IE 10+ you need to do compatibility mode and that slows down the GUI along with HTTPS.

I use Firefox just for the GUI and it seems to run a lot better but on HTTPS its still a little slow but not so slow its imposable to do any thing.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent value.

Pros: Inexpensive for the features.
Easy to deploy.
Friendly for the network admin.
Cisco's name and reliability.

Cons: None that I can think of at this point.

Other Thoughts: Paired this with a Cisco SG300-10MP and works great.
I was planning on deploying Cisco small business equipment as a secondary/backup choice but have changed my mind since working with this product.
For the price and the features Cisco SB is tough to beat.

Ordered from Newegg and had it at my door the next morning!

5 out of 5 eggsVery Powerful Smart switch

Pros: Smart switch at a decent price. +2 copper ports than most other competing switches. Supports everything you would expect it to, and it's interface is very fast.

Has a lifetime warranty

Cons: No con's here

Other Thoughts: It's a little bit more expensive than competitors products, but you get +2 nic ports, and cisco's expertise.

4 out of 5 eggsThis one is not PoE

Pros: Best in class, managed switch, business class CPE. High throughput and switching capacity (backplane)

Cons: The PoE model is SG200-26P and is $200 more. Please correct your product description. It's misleading.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend buy on this item. It is high class, quality switch compared to other brands. For a little more money, you are buying a peace of mind.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: If you're familiar with Cisco switches, you'll immediately be familiar with their web interface. Contrary to what others have said, the web interface is very fast and very well presented. I've used much worse web interfaces (Netgear). Upgrading the firmware was so easy, I didn't have to search the depths of their website for it and the switch provides an HTTP method of upgrading. I setup VLANs and LAGG without any issues. In addition, the hardware is fantastic and very durable.

Cons: Needs more features for comparable competitors.

A bit expensive if not bought on sale.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely buy again.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Wanted good quality switch. Needed only Link Aggregation and VLANs. This has worked fine.

Cons: Lots of standard Cisco services turned on by default, such as discovery protocols CDP, LLAP and bonjour. Not really a negative as they can be turned off if not needed.

Other Thoughts: Putting about 70GB of data through the switch a day. Even without an internal fan, with the only utilzed features being Link Aggregation and VLANs , the case is barely warm to the touch.

3 out of 5 eggsGood if on a budget

Pros: decent price
24 gigabit ports
2 gigabit uplinks (minigbic support)

Cons: horrible web interface
very cryptic vlan settings
slow to factory default
tedious to manage because you have to set each setting one at a time for every port

Other Thoughts: cisco small business works alright at a fair price for dumb L2 switch but forget about the management web interface. its inefficient, slow, and buggy.

did manage to get this doing 802.11q vlans with a cisco 1941 but it was an absolute PITA to get working. having much experience with network hardware, i found it to be "just enough" to get the job done in a simple setup but would not recommend this switch for anyone who has to manage a network remotely.

if you need a managed switch do yourself a favor and get a real cisco switch second hand and enjoy the elegant, efficient, beautiful ios cli.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product

Pros: Purchased two of these, one for each switch closet at school to replace/upgrade 10/100 units and add gigabyte ports for newer equipment. It appears that these actually helped several network problems we were having. Easily installed and have been working without a hitch for over three months now. Looking forward to years of good service. The extra two ports for gigabit/fibre optic connection to other switches came in handy for connecting to other buildings on campus (via fibre optic) and not losing any of the original 24 ports.

Cons: None that I could see unless having the instructions writen in gramatically correct English counts. I had to re-read the instructions a couple time before it sank in that you need to set these up using a computer set to a fixed IP address around Not a CON, just a comment.

Other Thoughts: Looking to purchase another one to replace an older 10/100 switch that is still in the rack and to give me an added 24 1Gb ports for future computer upgrades. The smart capability seems to help with the many and varied distances to our classrooms.
