5 out of 5 eggs20 min up and running

Pros: up and running in 20 mins, would have been quicker but one password was wrong, using both ports for two phone lines, replacing the spa2102, that one worked good too, but didnt need the router since i using a adsl router

Cons: fast set up, very nice new friendly interface compared to the spa2102, very nice right off the get go, just a couple of tweaks of some of the settings and ringing off the hook,

Other Thoughts: so far, no problems that i can tell you about

2 out of 5 eggsNeed a PBX

Pros: I'm sure this is a fine product but...

Cons: It needs a PBX. If you are a mediums sized business that's probably not a show stopper. If you aren't you'll need to install some kind of PBX software such as Asterisk. It takes a bit of work to configure but it does work. However, it will meen keeping the machine running asterix on 24x7 to keep a phone service. It also lacks a line in for your old analog POTS line so you have to dedicate the handset to VOIP. With Obi products, setup is easier and you share the handset between VOIP and POTS.

Other Thoughts: Poorly suited to non-business users

4 out of 5 eggsEasy

Pros: Simple setup. Disconnected the house line from the box outside, and just plugged this into a phone jack inside. All phones are now on an extension to our PBX.

Cons: It dropped out only once. Not sure of the cause, but it's been running fine for over a month now.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I bought the SPA112 because it's the newest ATA from Cisco replacing the Linksys/Cisco PAP2T. The device was pretty easy to setup. I had mine up and running in literally 5 minutes. There's even a "quick setup" that's supposed to get you up and running quickly where it asks you to enter info like the proxy, user id, and password. For my setup, I had to change additional settings so I didn't use the quick setup.

Cons: Caller ID doesn't work at all on phones connected to the SPA112. This is a big con for me. This issue is known by Cisco's development teams. Search the internet for "SPA112 not allowing caller id to show". Hopefully they fix this issue soon with a firmware update.
