1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Product

Pros: When you are right beside the unit and tweak the beans out of it, it would work quick on the AC spectrum, if you moved more then 10 feet vertically or 5 feet horizontally not so much.

Cons: -Signal Strength is horrible. If you were more then 10 feet away from it you were hosed.
-Tried several firmware updates and unit would also randomly hang up.
-As a CCNA, with it being a cisco product that it would work, not so much.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money.If I could've returned it, I would

5 out of 5 eggsHome Setup

Pros: Easy Setup
Multiple SSIDs
Multiple Concurrent radios
SSID-to-VLAN mapping
ACLs
QoS

I have two of these APs in my house, mounted out-of-the-way on the ceiling. One is in the basement, one is on the second floor. They're mounted as close to the center of the floor as possible and my house is approximately 40'x40'. I don't have any issues with connectivity when it comes to laptops. The two iPhones that connect don't have the same range as laptops, but I don't really find that surprising.

Management of them is nice, and single-point setup is pretty cool. All in all, I find the GUI to be fairly straightforward and simple.

Cons: Price.

To make full use of 80 MHz of bandwidth on the 5 GHz band, you need PoE+, not standard PoE. You can try using 80 MHz on the 5G band with standard PoE, but don't be shocked if the AP locks up and/or reboots.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I'm pretty happy with these. They replaced a couple of different models of AP (a Cisco 321 and Linksys 4400) and I'm happy with that. Bonus: upgrade to 802.11ac whenever I get devices capable of it.

3 out of 5 eggsWould be 5 but tagged vlans are busted

Pros: All most everything. Dual band, through put, signal strength, POE, options galore, and single point setup is great without having to cram an additional controller into my already over-crowded rack.

Cons: Tagged VLANs are busted, especially in the latest firmware (1.1.2.3). I purchased 3 of these to replace our old WAPs. The came in box with 1.0.0.10 firmware and the first thing I did was upgrade to 1.1.2.3. The new version made setup nicer because instead of just radio0 and radio1 it tells you which is 5 and which is 2.4. Shortly after deploying I started getting reports of issues. Any connection on the tagged vlan was basically dead. Speedtests would usually time out or be at .01Mbps down while the untagged was 90+. Called and talked to Cisco and they are aware of the issue.

Ended up rolling back to the 1.0.0.10 firmware, which was a single click to swap active firmware (which is a plus), and that put the tagged vlan up to 40Mbps down. Not as awesome as the 90+ on the same radio, but its placating my wifi-using masses while waiting for a fix from Cisco.

Other Thoughts: Once this latest firmware issues are fixed this is definitely a 5 star product. Still very much recommended.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Bought for home and personal use. Installed and setup literally in 10 minutes. Enough signal strength around the house. Quite pleased with it to be honest although its only a week of ownership.

Cons: None so far

5 out of 5 eggsCISCP WAP371 wireless access point

Pros: Much more stable at the 2.6 Ghz band than WAP561. The range is slightly better than the WAP561 as well. Still, the range is nowhere near consumer routers. Unlike consumer routers, this WAP371 (of which I have four) paired with the RV320 is rock-solid stable and has never gone down or needed resetting.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Relatively easy setup through router and access point accessible GUI interfaces.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat AP

Pros: I am pleasantly surprised with the performance and coverage of this ap. I am getting full coverage in a small 2000 sf office. All end point are connecting at full rated interface speeds. The 5 ghz radio strength, through 4 walls is only reduced by about 15%. The 2.4 radio reduced by 5%. I don't have any wireless ac adapters so I have not tested the full speed capabilities.

Cons: No CLI

Other Thoughts: My only problem is that I was shipped a unit that had been previously used and configured. I reset the unit and it works great, so I did not try to return.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Signal Strength

Pros: Cost. I knew I was getting a small business AP from the door. Bought two of these for a small satellite office, non-mission critical deployment to give our users some mobility while at this office. While standing next to the access point, performance is excellent.

Cons: Signal strength. The strength of the radios in these devices makes them almost unusable. Outside 20 feet, signal strength takes a nose dive, even while maintaining line of sight. This office has no other offices/buildings/cell towers around it, so interference is not an issue here. I have tried all manner of clients, all with the same results(G,A,N,AC). Hoping Cisco can come out with a magical firmware update to remedy the abysmal signal strength these devices provide.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely hold off on buying these units until Cisco can work the bugs out and/or recall these unites. If you want something that works, pay the premium for an Aironet.
