Nice unit - The shar-a-nizer....
- Pros: I have this with a larger 8db antenna attached and a 5 port trendnet hub attached to that... It can see connections very far away and attach to them. Setup as a client, it provides internet to a switch that then uses DHCP to serve it out to 4 other computers - speed is 100 between computers through the switch and I get a full speed wireless G connection with high signal quality to all the computers through its 1 wireless connection. Its a fairly wicked box with a few good uses and a lot of bad ones. I like it alot.
BTW - Signal doubled with the 8db antenna and doubled again when I sat the unit up on a large flat pan - Trust me - Set the thing on a 16inchX16inch piece of aluminum.
- Cons: No cons - Wish it could make coffee - It does everything else. Its so pretty I want to throw up...
- Other Thoughts: 1. Great way for a far away neighbor to share his internet into your large network, if he will agree (-;
2. Great way for you to share your network.
3. Great AP, client... Haven't tried some functions.
4. Great way to share iphone data network/internet to alot of users (Use DHCP)
Bought 3
- Pros: Cheap switch. All 3 worked fine.
- Cons: Cheap plastic. Connections wiggle a bit and have had to ensure that the cables are not pulling at an angle. That is a very minor Con.
- Other Thoughts: Definitely worth the $10 each.
Does the job well
- Pros: Good price, works well out of the box. No setup, does what it's meant to do.
- Cons: None that I can think of.
- Other Thoughts: I bought this so I could have my laptop, Xbox 360, and Apple TV all on the same internet connection in my dorm. Works like a charm, and it also allows my laptop to sync with the Apple TV.
