5 out of 5 eggsbetter than onboard nic

Pros: wished i had picked this one up sooner. download has always been fast, but uplink speed is about 30% higher, and is steady.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: replaced onboard nic. i didn't know it would be faster, but it sure makes a difference. the rest of the house is wi-fi, but i may buy one or two more of these. i'm a happy customer!

1 out of 5 eggsD.O.A.

Pros: None!

Cons: Card arrived D.O.A.
did not bother to RMA 12$ is not worth the time nor effort, i just went to a local computer shop and purchased another.

Other Thoughts: I should have known to stay away from TRENDnet, but I did'nt realise I got a bunk wireless adaptor from them a few years ago until after I made the purchase and checked through my order history.

4 out of 5 eggsMostly OK

Pros: Card works OK.

Cons: Does not come with a low profile bracket.

Other Thoughts: Check the pictures carefully. What you see is what you get. Have to leave a NIC inside a case with no mount bracket until I get some new ones in.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Network Card

Pros: Great and cheap. Works like a network card should.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Worked in Windows 2008 R2 Server Edition without the need for the install disc. Just plug and play. Haven't tried in Ubuntu but have heard Ubuntu has the drivers built on for this device already.

5 out of 5 eggsToo easy!!!

Pros: Got it yesterday, dropped it in, worked with no problem. As stated earlier, didn't even need the driver disc that came with it. The card is only as big as it absolutely needs to be, and it supports Wake-on-LAN. All for 8 dollars!!! That is too easy!!!

Cons: Not a one on the NIC, but I'm going to put this here because it irritates me. @ Newegg, if an item costs $3.99, the shipping should not be eight dollars.

Other Thoughts: I was going to by either a D-Link or Netgear NIC, as those are typically my brands of choice. They only experience I have with TrendNet is a NIC PC Card for my old ThinkPad that still works after seven or so years. What they do not tell you in the specs is that Windows Server 2008 DOES support this card (at least x64 does). I was worried before making this purchase because I went through 4 models of NICs and Win 2K8 didn't recognize any of them and the manufacturers didn't have drivers for Win 2008. I know how online merchants siphon their customers with "restocking fees" on returns. Worry no more! Hope this help the poor sap who is trying to remedy that issue. Of course, the free shipping was the best part, and it only took a day to get here.
