3 out of 5 eggsAbout a year old not working the way it should

Pros: Worked good for about a year.

Cons: Not getting a steady signal at all now Up until about a month ago, The signal strength was about 90% never falling below 80%.
Now it drops to 15% and stays at about 30% most of the time.
Nothing has been changed the location of the router, and this computer is the same.
The laptop that we have is getting good signals no mater where it it located in the house, so it's not the router.

5 out of 5 eggsIf you want a good cheap wifi card here you go

Pros: This card was just like any other part to my computer . you install the drivers plug it in and look for something to connect to. It gets great signal assuming you installed the companies driver and didnt let windows or linux install its own.
with ubuntu you have to use ndiswrapper and the windows 2000 drivers for this to work wich is pretty easy. With windows just install the driver Then insert the card or insert the card and install the driver, both ways worked for me.

Cons: The only bad thing about this card is the antenna but luckly its removeable and cheap , you could go any by a better one but for me it was just fine.

Other Thoughts: the pictures for this thing are always a little off. I bought mine from tiger direct for about 6 bucks and there pictures werent correct either.
It also came in the REALLY big box that is way to big for the card but its cool
I melted the box with water :D

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Followed the instructions for WinXP and it set up perfectly with 100% signal strength.
Note: The computer is at one end of the house and the router is at the other end in the garage.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The adapter is reasonably priced too.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes not work with Windows 7 64 bit

Pros: Inexpensive, reliable, works with most current operating systems

Cons: No Windows 7 x64 support

Other Thoughts: I have had this card for over 4 years, in two different machines, running Windows XP and Vista (64 bit) and it performed flawlessly. Just upgraded to Windows 7 (64 bit), and I get a code 10 error when using the built-in Marvell driver. When I run with 2 GB of ram it works fine in Windows 7, but with 4 GB it will not work. I have tried several different drivers and I think it's time for me to try a different card. Not sure why it worked in Vista and not Win 7, but I'm tired of messing with it. Disappointing, but still a good card for what I paid and how long I used it.

2 out of 5 eggsCan't keep a signal

Pros: it works for a while

Cons: I have a weak signal. It connects but after a little while I have to disable the adapter and re-enable it. Another PCI wireless card I have (edimax) keeps its signal.

3 out of 5 eggsIt works...now...

Pros: Dirt cheap. It works. It isn't dead like the one it replaced. Did I mention its cheap and it works?

Cons: What a nightmare getting it to work. The slimline Dell (i didn't realize this wasn't the slimline model) running Vista Home Pro (I think, its my wife's computer) detected it right away. And it logged on. For around 5 minutes. Then it would lose signal.

I did a lot of things. Some very knowledgable people helped me reset lots of stuff in the computer. Eventually, I did what I should have done in the first place and install off the trendnet disc. It works now.

I guess silly me assuming the driver Vista kept telling me was the "newest" would work.

Other Thoughts: This is cheap. And, well, yeah. If you don't mind some possible headaches and are looking for about the cheapest route to go, buy this. I know I'll probably another brand next time.
I guess I should have installed off the CD first. I know better than to trust Vista again.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy

Pros: It connects to your wireless....for a little while....

Cons: It kept kicking me off my wireless signal and on to someone else's signal. It changed how my computer shuts down. It drops the signal like crazy. It will not stay above 11 Mbps for very long

Other Thoughts: Don't buy

1 out of 5 eggsbad for XP users...

Pros: This adapter connects me to the internet wirelessly... the pro's stop there.

Cons: It changes the way I log into and out of my computer. Before I installed this on my XP computer, when I turned on my computer, it went straight to the desktop. But after I installed the drivers for this adapter, it makes me use a login screen when I start up and power down my computer. I went into the control panel and tried to change it back to the way it was, but it says some files are blocking me from changing it. When I uninstall the driver, it reverts back to normal. I went online to find the newest drivers, but this didn't change anything.

Other Thoughts: Won't be purchasing this brand again.
