4 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: So far it's working fine, even if it goes bad, with a 3-year warranty, heck, it's good. Bought it for $5 on sale. Came with a 5" USB extension cord for a cheap price! Loving it so far.

Cons: This is only good if you're using it at home. If you intend to use this adapter in public, you won't pick up a good signal, you'd need to sit close to the building that's broadcasting the wifi. It's not to say you can't use it in public, it just won't pick up all signal because my other wifi usb adapter was able to pick up other weak signals compare to this one. I bought this to use at home, not in public or at school campus.

Other Thoughts: Update (1/6/2015): I intended to update this 2 years ago, but forgot to. I took off an egg and gave this thing 3/5, 3 being that it works and it was cheap then when I bought it. The problem I found out when I used this mini wireless adapter is that it would get warm after an hour use, if you use it pass an hour, it will continue to get hotter. It can get hot as a hot cup of coffee to the point you cannot touch this thing so don't use it past an hour or so. I don't use this anymore and later on I got a D-link mini adapter that only gets warm, but not hot and I could still hold that D-link adapter after many hours of use.

My recommendation to you is, don't bother getting this one, it gets hot after an hour use and has no air-vent holes to dissipitate the heat like my D-link had. Beside we are in year 2016 now, it's better to look for one that can connect to the 5ghz band instead of being stuck in the 2.4ghz band of the past.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: Simple
Cheap
Sturdy

Cons: Large
b/g only

Other Thoughts: Not much else to say, I bought a couple when they were on sale, and carried them in my toolbox to resell to people who need wifi RIGHT NOW. Performance is about average for such a device, nothing good or bad worth writing home about.

It is very large for a USB network adapter, and the flip-up lid makes it larger still, but that means you can expect it to work after spending a few months in the bottom of a toolbox. Handy to have around "just in case".

A good low-cost solution.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple and sweet

Pros: - Low price
- Good signal strength
- Plug and play ( at least for Windows 7)

Cons: - A tad on the bulky side

Other Thoughts: I picked this up on a whim for $5 as a Shell Shocker deal. Just recently I plugged it into an old P4 computer I had lying around that I wanted to play with and this adapter worked just fine. I have the computer in the basement with the router one floor above it, and this adapter seems to be running at full strength. For the price, it's great.

5 out of 5 eggsVery underrated, reliable adapter

Pros: Amazing price, durable, never had any issues with it whatsoever in the 2.5 years I´ve owned it.

Cons: May not be the fastest if you do a lot of uploading (YT, etc.), but it´s good enough for competitive online gaming and most users in general: It is plenty good enough to stream videos off YouTube while playing an MMO without any lag issues. The only time I really encounter lag is when I am running a game patcher downloading multiple GB worth of data which uses up a lot of bandwidth while trying to do other things.

Other Thoughts: Been through quite a few wireless adapters, including some 60$ ones, and they never seem to last. After two 60$ adapters broke down on me after several months of heavy use I decided if they were going to wear out on me I might as well get cheap ones.

Well, I decided to get this one and never had to buy another one because 2.5 years later it´s still working, despite heavy usage. Writing this review now because I am buying another one.

If you do a lot of LAN file sharing or uploading, the bandwidth on this adapter may be a bit limiting, but this adapter is plenty fast enough for most needs. I´ve had no trouble installing MMOs with this adapter though downloading and playing at the same time can create some lag issues.

Online gaming doens´t really use much bandwidth (heck in the old days we used to do raids on dial up), and honestly reliability trumps speed IMO if you do any sort of competitive PvP. This adapter has not disconnected me even once in 2.5 years so I am quite pleased with it.
