Pros: Cheap, does the job at making a device wireless.

Cons: Does not come with a CAT5 network cable. Not for a novice, requires knowledge of changing your PC's IP address to a certain range in order to connect to it. For most people, this can be easy.

Other Thoughts: Hire a kid from high school to install this,

Pros: Easy to configure

Cons: Two for two were returned, as they kept dropping the wireless clients. These were set up in two different locations. One I updated to the latest firmware (didn't resolve) and the other would not even take the firmware update. TrendNet would not give me my money back (was beyond 30-day purchase from NewEgg) and gave me replacements. I'm deploying the EnGenius EAP150 now and they have been great so far.

Other Thoughts: Won't buy from TrendNet again

Pros: Works great out of the box with a simple reconfigure. Works just fine in a total Linux environment (static IP LAN addresses).

Cons: Quick Installation Guide sucks as per usual. Throw it away along with the CD. Download and print the latest full User's Manual from Trendnet.

Other Thoughts: The default 192.168.1.100 IP address didn't work for me but it's easily changed. I used a laptop (Linux) connected to a spare switch in turn connected to the AP. Change the IP address range on the laptop to 192.168.1.xxx and from your browser input the 192.168.1.100 address. Logon (admin) and password (admin) should appear. Main screen should appear next. Go to IP Settings and change the IP address to an unused address for you LAN. Enter the other info that is compatible with your LAN (Fixed IP, DHCP off etc.), click Apply and you are good to go. Plug the AP into your LAN and it should be accessible (via browser) from any PC on your LAN. Change the Logon and Password to something secure and you should be ready to play with the remaining settings as required. Device runs cool and is fast.

Windows is totally unnecessary!

Cons: Total trash. I know how to set up a ap client, and this one dont work. I am able to log into the device and set it up as an AP client. I am able to do a site survey and locate my router and give it the passphrase. It all looks like it should be working but it just doesnt.

Pros: I bought this for my Xbox 360 as opposed to buying Xbox's $100 wireless adapter. Works sweet!

Pros: It works right out of the box, setup as default as a WAP. If this is what you want, to add wireless to a room or house that has none, just unpack it, plug in the cat5 and the power and it'll by default just.... work. Since that's what I needed, I'm pleased. The speed and range seems fine, I have wireless throughout the house as expected. I moved it a dozen times and it always starts up and configures itself quickly and boom, you have wireless.

Cons: It does run hot, you could cook an egg on the thing and the vents are on the bottom. This is why I gave it 4 and not 5 eggz. I just set it on the shelf upside down to let the heat escape better. I probably will connect a CPU fan on it to keep it cool and lengthen it's life. I can't imagine anything that runs that hot will last very long if not cooled somehow. Simple fix. Setting it upside down actually helped cool it down a bit, probably all that you need to do. Or set it on its end, if they send you the odd looking one with the standoffs, but no I got a flat square one with little rubber pads.... another con, the picture aint the one you get. It works so who cares?

Other Thoughts: I don't know if it runs well on any other setting, client, repeater, bridge, ect. since that is not why I bought it. I bought it to replace my old Belkin54 that I was using as an AP. It works as a wireless AP right out of the box with no configuration needed. Well, it might of you have a computer with the same IP and get a conflict but like all these boxes, configuring that is no big deal.

Pros: Extended wireless signal upstairs perfectly with this little gem. Great tech support, effortless set up and dirt cheap.

Cons: none

Pros: Easy to set up, powerful and seemingly well-made. No compatibility issues with the Linux boxes used on the network. Coverage is excellent with no holes.

Cons: None so far.

Pros: It was "set it and forget it". This has run nearly four years in a high-dust, high-salt environment with temperatures that vary from the upper 30s (F) to as much as 120 (F). It is Baja California, after all. At least a year of that time it was outside, protected only by my patio cover. Never needs attention. Rides right through power glitches that have confused settings on many other devices.

Flexibility not found in many more expensive APs.

Cons: A couple of minor quibbles with the user interface, but nothing worth actually complaining about.

Other Thoughts: Very flexible, useful AP. See the specs. Over the last few years a number of my friends and neighbors have ended up with the same device, since it's so reliable.

Pros: Light weight; compact.

Cons: SSID disappeared in less than 12 hours. Updated to latest firmware. Will see what happens.
