5 out of 5 eggsHighly Recommend

Pros: This thing went in like a dream. I didn't even reboot any of the PC's that I switched over to this device. It really is a plug & play device. For the money I don't see how this switch can be beat

Cons: Time will tell if the thing will give me any "reliability" problems.

Other Thoughts: For me the black case matches up with my other network equipment.

5 out of 5 eggsanother winner

Pros: 8 gigabit ports, fast port switching

Cons: Had to cycle all network devices before it would work and hard reset router to factory defaults before it would all work correctly.

Other Thoughts: This switch support jumbo frames and works well Large LUNs

5 out of 5 eggsFlawless for 6 months

Pros: Very good value, works.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: My other switch caused my PC to sometimes not recognize it was connected to the network. This one eliminated that problem. No issues since changing to this switch.

5 out of 5 eggsGood stuff

Pros: Ran Cat6 line throughout the walls/attic in my new home, used a pair of these to link everything together. No problems detected, share TV/Movies/Pics from anywhere in house to anywhere else at great speed.

Cons: They weigh less than an envelope, why is shipping 10 greenbacks ( I cannot use a dollar sign, apparently ) each?

Other Thoughts: These devices couldn't be easier to setup and use. They look sexy, too. I personally recommend this switch. Buy this switch. Buy it from Newegg. Tell 'em Alive sent you. Peace, vive le roi, Alive

5 out of 5 eggsNo muss, no fuss

Pros: It just works. Plugged it in and that was that. Haven't had a problem with this switch since I bought back when there was a discount that brought the price down to 15 bucks.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Glad I decided to experiment with an off brand.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: affordable
reliable
compact
portable
fast

Cons: with no dedicated upload port you lose one of the ports for an uplink, but still you can buy 3 of these for cheaper than you can get a 24 port switch and since you have 3 the portability factor goes up.

Other Thoughts: i have owned one of these for my house for going on about 3 months now, and have had no problems i liked it so much that i ordered another 2 of them for work to expand our lab environment

5 out of 5 eggsPlug n Play!

Pros: This switch is awesome. I just threw it into my Trendnet router and fired it up. Worked right away. No setup. Fast very fast. Easy advanced setup if you are familiar with router/switch settings. If not.. there is plenty of help online.

Cons: No base stand to place it vertically.

Other Thoughts: Its wonderfull to have a product that works right away as it should. This switch took my 1g adapters without any issues. No packet loss. With 6 gaming pcs on my home network and 4 of them are thru this switch all at 10/1000 Its like the switch wasnt even there.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap and Effective

Pros: Inexpensive and effective, transparent installation

Cons: None unexpected

Other Thoughts: All my reviews take into account the selling price of the item, not comparing to all other products of similar type across the spectrum as I typically do not buy the exceptionally low or high end. In this case the body is of the same light plastic as all other trendnet products I have seen, but has not chipped or changed color. It is lightweight so if there is any stress on the cables it will move around a desktop. Suggest anchoring it to a board or wall.

Keep in mind this is a switch, not a router. In order to hand out DHCP addresses you will need to either:
A) have a system on your network that hands out DHCP addresses

B) have the switch connected to a router via a crossover cable
