5 out of 5 eggsDefinitely worth 5 buckaroos

Pros: works great for a refurb-dirt cheap-pretty blue color

Cons: its a little big, but comes with a nice usb extension..Dont use the installation CD, see below...

Other Thoughts: goto realtek dot com and then click downloads and then type in the download search RTL8187B and there you will find the latest and best drivers for this guy

5 out of 5 eggsTRENDnet = Functional Budget Network

Pros: 1. Relatively easy setup.

2. Includes a USB extension (only about 5", but still helpful)

3. $6!!!

Cons: 1. The size is awkward, but it has the extension, so it's cool.

2. Requires software

3. Setup, while easy, is not intuitive. You must install the software prior to connecting the hardware. That's typical, just not intuitive.

Other Thoughts: You need to know that you will get an error of "Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you onto the network" if you don't un-check the "Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network" box in the authentication tab of your wireless network properties.

Runs like a top once that little check mark is gone.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work, not worth an RMA

Pros: Shipped to me quickly, which Trendnet had nothing to do with.

Cons: Didn't work with Vista or W7 32 or 64bit. Unfortunately, this is also going to the drawer of doom. I was hoping to get a steal at $6 and just use this on a younger siblings machine for basic connection speeds. Instead, I got a paper weight with a green light that flashes on occasion when plugged into a USB port.

Other Thoughts: I would suggest spending a few extra dollars to get a decent one instead of trying your luck on these.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: I caught it on sale for $6, I'm using it to connect my media player to my network. Setup way easy, just plugged it into the media player & entered the passcode. Takes about 35min to transfer 4gb of data.

Cons: None yet.

2 out of 5 eggsDISCONNECTS A LOT

Pros: Easy install- Windows SP3, connected quickly with relatively good speed up to 54 Mbps, flexible usb adapter cable is nice.

Cons: Will not hold a connection, frequent disconnects-EVERY COUPLE OF MINUTES

Other Thoughts: The cable worked well with an old Dynex adapter, got it up to speeds it could not attain before, and it stays connected. The Trendnet is going into the drawer.
