The 200Mbps Powerline AV Adapter with Bonus Plug, model TPL-304E, uses any electrical outlet to create a secure high speed building-wide network. Connect one adapter to your network and plug another adapter into any electrical outlet on your electrical system for instant high speed network access.
Never lose an electrical outlet with the built in socket on the front of the adapter. A Noise Filter maintains optimum connection speeds when everyday household appliances such as toasters, washing machines, and coffee makers create electrical background noise.
Connect adapters quickly using the convenient one-touch 'Sync' button. Use up to 8 adapters to network devices in different rooms without running new cabling. Power Save mode reduces power consumption by up to 70%. Quality of Service technology prioritizes video, audio, and online gaming. Advanced AES encryption secures your network. This adapter is ideal for use in buildings that interfere with wireless networking signals.
Pros: Easy to install and configure for basic operation. Faster than I expected. Set it up and forget about it. Have had to reset one of the three I have running a single time in the last several months. LED was red for some reason...and the problem went away after power cycling it.
Cons: Have atttempted to configure security using the MAC Address and security key of one of the other units and it just doesn't work. The "key" is supposedly invalid, even though it is clearly the key on the label. The network isn't "secure" but frankly, it is a basic home network, so I'm not all that worried about it.
Other Thoughts: I purchased these three units to eliminate a wireless bridge set up that was always flaky. No more problems.

Pros: fast. Delivers 6MB/s stably on multiple file transfer. On the same 2 endpoints, the throughput is under 4MB/s with 1) Netgear Powerline AV 200 Ultra Adapter Kit (XAVB2001-100NAS); 2) Belkin Gigabit Powerline HD Starter Kit F5D4076 (v2012).
Cons: the upper edge is too wide, so if it is plugged in the bottom socket of a 2-socket slot, the top socket is partially covered and can only be used for a 2-prong plug rather than a 3-prong plug.
Other Thoughts: I got it at $80, quite a good deal.
