5 out of 5 eggsGood Deal

Pros: On the plus side of things, I'm able to be on a different frequency so there is less traffic on my router and I can use the dual band function of my new router.. Speeds are very good with this adapter and range is excellent. I'm picking up other wireless signals that the rest of the house or my old adapter couldn't even detect.

Cons: They Could have included some double sided tape to mount to my case, It is extremely lite and the wire will tip it over. (Cant help it, had to put something here.)

Other Thoughts: Win 7 64 bit Ultimate, works well. Consider some light adhesive/tape to hold it in place so it doesn't flop around when you bump the wire.

3 out of 5 eggsAlright

Pros: Windows 8 native drivers, plug and play

Cons: Can't to better than 130Mpbs on multiple laptops in different locations, including in front of router.
Claim is up to 450. Expecting better than 1/3 the claim

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Bowler,

I apologize deeply for this adapter not exceeding your expectations. I am curious what kind of router this adapter wants to connect to and is the least congested wi-fi channel chosen if 2.4GHz band is used in your wireless network? I would suggest to download and install InSSIDer via the following link, http://www.metageek.net/support/downloads/, to locate it and configure. I would like to help you with a smooth setup. You can email me directly at adrian@trendnet.com with “Newegg TEW-684UB Review” in the subject line and I will be able to assist you immediately. I can also help with any of your product questions. Thanks for taking the time to review our product. We hope to hear from you soon to regain your trust in TRENDnet.

Warm Regards,
Adrian

5 out of 5 eggsBLOWN AWAY by this little adapter!

Pros: -Huge increase in signal compared to my old receiver
-Blazingly fast (about as fast as my router can put out)
-Very small and unobtrusive
-Very easy to set up

Cons: I guess the cord could be a little longer...?

Other Thoughts: I am very happy with this thing, it is almost as good as an ethernet connection. I have great signal across the house, my speed has increased five fold, and my signal almost never cuts out. This is without a doubt the best purchase I have made on a whim. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

1 out of 5 eggsIt's great! But unstable.

Pros: -Fast speed
-Large range
-Cheap find
-Stylish and small. (Size of an iPod nano 7th generation for scale)

Cons: -UNSTABLE, Lag spikes. etc.
-Only had it for less than 6 months and it started acting up
-Could use a longer USB cable.

Other Thoughts: Wonder if it's just a defective unit.
