4 out of 5 eggsProduct works good.

Pros: The router is cheap and affordable i got it for less than $20. Configuration was easy. Hooked up to the modem viola!! it started working right away. I am using it since 2 months and did not observe any issues til now as against my previous other routers

Cons: Guest access feature is missing(i wanted to use the WEP for my old desktop which supports only WEP).
Had to tweak manual to find out and activate WPS feature..

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Product!

Pros: This is my fist product from TrendNet mainly because it was affordable. the range is isn't too bad but this wasn't an important issue im like 7 feet from my source with a max of about 15 feet. i can barely receive a signal on my phone when im outside having a smoke about 25 to 40 ft away... but this through concrete and apartments with stuff in em... i get better bandwidth through this model than my other MS router of the same signal strength. The package came as advertised and i was most up to date on the arrival process. To anyone wishing to buy this thing. i can safely tell you its a great buy you won't be disappointed. To the people wishing to buy something that has great range your looking in the wrong area for that.. Most if not all routers have about the same range you will almost always have issues with that with nearly any router if RANGE is what your looking for. The best option if you want range is to obtain a wifi-extender. Or, for the smart ones out here set up a network of routers.

Cons: Not really any so far. i do have an issue with the way this is labeled on this site.. i was expecting the following functions listed in this product but i now realize that theses are the types of IEEE interfaces that come with this model. im a noob on this site and i will try to be more caring in what i read when ordering as i really wished for the other formats that are listed as "one product" I do have the IEEE 802.11b/g/n but do not have the others on this product. however misleading the information it has fulfilled my needs.

Other Thoughts: aside from my personal thoughts its a good product all in all

5 out of 5 eggsgood ROI

Pros: The easiest setup that has ever happened to me. Good bang for the buck. I've had it for about three days and it's been running smooth so far. All my devices connect without any issues (I have a Linux PC, a Chromebook, a Nexus 5 and a Nexus 7)

Cons: none so far

5 out of 5 eggsTwo years in, no complaints

Pros: Works fine after roughly two years of use.

Cons: Web interface is nothing fancy, but works fine.

Other Thoughts: Using for a small office at work in combination with a trendnet hub. We have good coverage for other office with other access points, so we haven't pushed the range at all.

4 out of 5 eggsHappy with this router.

Pros: Price (cheap), good reviews, good costumer support. Very good Wireless N 150Mbps router for lite internet browsers.

Cons: A little confusing on setting up the admin password, very easy to think you are setting up your network (wireless) password when in fact you are changing the admin password. Be careful and SAVE (write down) everything you do. Not really the router I would choose if you want to network your computers.

Other Thoughts: I wanted a router for lite browsers (smartphones and tablets), I do all my heavy downloading on a wired desktop computer. So this fits my needs and budget perfectly. I wanted something easy to set up (with good costumer support) and not a lot of "bells and whistles" with every option under the sun. I don't network computers at home (for security reasons) so this is a very good router for users like me.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It was very very affordable and worked great for about 60 days.

Cons: I bought this on 01/10/2013 even though I had no use for it at that time but like to keep a spare. Around 09/01/2013 I took it out of the box and set it up at a friends house. It worked great for about 2 months and then it just quit. It will not get an IP address from the local cable ISP for some reason now. I have reset it which did not help at all. I can connect to the device either by wire or wireless but it shows no ip address from the ISP which is why it won't work now.

Other Thoughts: I have already contacted sales@trendnet.com about the warranty and will update with info when I hear from them. It needs to be replaced

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic bang-for-your-buck

Pros: -Power Efficient
-5 year warranty
-Great performance in the segment
-Able to Route LAN-WAN at nearly 200 Mbps
-PCAP traffic capture from WAN/LAN

Cons: -Single Antenna
-Only single SSID, No Guest SSID option

Other Thoughts: Good packaging, held securely in a recyclable cardboard tray.

Received hardware version 1.0R. Shipped with firmware version 1.00b31, updated and tested with 1.01b09.

The "load" used was iperf. Power measurements taken with a Kill-a-Watt

Excellent power usage/efficiency:
Idle (Wifi on): 1.6W
Load LAN-WAN (Wifi on): 2.0W
Load WLAN-WAN (Wifi on): 2.0W
Load WLAN-LAN and LAN-WAN (Wifi on): 2.2W
Idle (Wifi off): 1.1W
Load LAN-WAN (Wifi off): 1.6W

Routing: Iperf testing shows that this router is limited only by its 100 Mbps WAN port. Using two client and two server processes I was able to sustain just under symmetrical 100 Mbps speeds between LAN to WAN(~94.3 Mbps, just under 190 Mbps bi-directional). Refreshing Steam servers multiple times while playing Team Fortress 2 showed no impact and no issue with browsing on a different system. Ping times remained low throughout this as well. I measured the max simultaneous connections at 3973 - so likely this is around 4096 total connections. Overall this router offered impressive performance for its low-end price point.

Wireless: Wireless coverage is decent for a low-cost, single-antenna device. Performance is acceptable - iperf testing showed real world throughput of around 38 Mbps at a distance of a few feet - Windows showed a connection speed of 130 Mbps. Separating myself by about 2 stories I had much poorer signal, but could still browse the web and stream video without issue. Due to the crowded 2.4 MHz spectrum in my location I was unable to test 40 MHz channel widths.

GUI: The Web GUI is fast, simple, and intuitive. All the usual features found in modern routers are present. One very neat feature is the ability to capture packets from either the WAN and LAN interfaces. When you stop a capture, the packets can be downloaded in a standard Wireshark .pcap file. I'm not sure what the limit is as to how long you can capture for, but this is a valuable tool for debugging. No Guest wireless network option.

Other: Device is light, but has rubber feet to keep it sliding around. 5 year warranty is admirable, but I hope I never have to use it. Through all the testing/loading the max temperature reached was around 92F at the top of the enclosure (~77F ambient). Normal operating temp was much lower at around 80F. Never had to reboot or power-off the router.

Highly recommend for the light user or someone not needing the latest and greatest WiFi coverage. Fantastic bang-for-your-buck.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than linksys, netgear

Pros: Previously owned Linksys and Netgear routers, both would lock up sometimes or I had to mess with the settings to get to work again. This trendnet is plug and play. You forget it's there since it just works. Had mine for 9 months now. Works perfectly. No lockups. Fast.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Bought a pair of these on sale. I had the SSID and security key changed in just a matter of minutes (and most of that was crawling under the desk to fumble with cables and plugs).

Cons: User interface is no better and no worse than other routers.

Other Thoughts: Note that the wired ports are only 100Mbps, so your best speed between any points on a network will be wirelessly (your internet connection is likely between 1.5 and 18 Mbps, so it's still faster than you're likely using). Keep in mind that wifi security protocols add a measureable amount of data to the stream, so your rate will be well less than the max unless you disable security and error checking (which is not advised). Also, the router is not the only piece of equipment in the equation, so make sure how your PC or other hardware is configured before you blame the router.

I'm not sure what some people are using to rate their transfer speeds, but you can't find a reliable number for that in Windows (you can find a number, but it's not reliable). You need to search for something like "lan speed test" on cnet downloads.
