5 out of 5 eggsWorked better than expected

Pros: I really doubted that it would work to get network out at the farm production barn, but decided to try it anyhow when it was on sale for a Shell Shocker. In fact, I didn't even try it for quit awhile, thinking it was going to be a waste of time. In spite of being over 300 ft away from the main router, going through 3 electrical panels, and being near a large solar inverter, it worked first try; had I known how quick it was going to be to try, I would have done it sooner. Now we have network and internet for our production computer in the barn. At that distance, it may not be the fastest, but I was amazed that it worked at all. If it will work under these conditions, I can't see why it wouldn't work great for more normal consumer applications.

Cons: Haven't found any, since it does what I needed it to.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat!

Pros: I love these things. They are so convenient, and for most applications and uses they are more than enough. Even for gaming on my PS4 they worked way better than my wireless N wifi. I currently use a 4 of these in my house. For a back room where wifi isn't the best, for downstairs on the 60" to stream netflix and tv channels through the network tuner. and a couple other points. Loving these.

Cons: 10/100 port... so you dont get 200Mbps to the device. BUT its still fine for most situations.

5 out of 5 eggsPlug & Play Perfection

Pros: Quick and easy setup. Great connection speeds. Hooked up and running with no software installation or configuration at all.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I hooked the transmitter to the upstairs router and installed the receiver downstairs to a wireless access point. I am getting 18 Mbps download and 4 Mbps speeds from the downstairs PCs.

Tested on Windows 8 and Windows 7 Pro.

This is not a wireless receiver, but you can connect it to a wireless access point as I did, and extend the wireless range throughout your house.

4 out of 5 eggsQuick expanded network

Pros: Simple installation and immediate link between nodes. If I was just connecting the ethernet cables on each side it would have been a 5 minute setup. But of course a little shuffle of cables, etc etc.

Cons: No power plug pass through. But hey this was an old version and not the lower model. Got what I payed for.

Other Thoughts: I purchased 4 total of these, or 2 sets. They work seamlessly together. I did notice that there may be limited compatibility with other powerline models from the same maker, but that makes sense.
My setup was to have one at the modem, one in part of the house connected to a wireless router acting as an access point, one on a desktop in the outside guest room, and one connected to a switch by the entertainment stand. Everything immediately worked. It was beautiful.

1 out of 5 eggsbeware

Pros: these boxes worked fine if they are installed in the same electrical circuit, if you will need to go through circuit breakers it will find out all sort of problems, from very low speed (5 mbps) to not able to connect the boxes to each other.

Cons: very limited application

Other Thoughts: don't purchase it unless you know the both end of your connection belong to the same electrical circuit.

1 out of 5 eggsdoes not reestablish connection

Pros: easy to set up and connect

4 out of 5 eggsSolved my XBOX 360 S wireless issues

Pros: I used this kit to resolve a longstanding issue I had browsing my music collection over a wireless connection using my XBOX 360 S and its Windows Media Extender app. For whatever reason, HD video and TV always worked fine over wireless to my XBOX, but the music collection in the Windows Media Extender would always choke. By setting these devices up in my apt (where I couldn't do any permanent wiring work), problem solved. I was happily surprised that these devices worked in my circa 1920's apt building.

Cons: Probably a bit overpriced. I'd recommend setting an alert price, and waiting for a sale price.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent product

Pros: This device is a life saver! I've used wireless networks most of my life, that is until now. Fast and easy to setup.

Cons: None, as long as you are within range of an outlet you are fine!

Other Thoughts: My room is less than 30 feet away from my wireless router, unfortunately the signal has to travel through many walls and a mirror. I've used a wireless bridge/AP to connect to my network, with my computer opposite from my door and my bridge/AP right beside the door. My signal ranged from 28% to 80%, most days it was in the 30% range which most likely intterupted my connection constantly! Once I switched to this device and had it up and running, it was a night & day difference! I now maintain a constant 80Mbps connection and increased internet speed compared to my wireless connection. It may not be the greatest connection ever, however I am not going to be doing any network streaming any time soon and I'm greatly satisfied with this product! Thank you Trendnet and NewEgg!

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING!! Saved me hundreds!

Pros: Plug-And-Play - No Software Install Required! Fast connection, better than Wi-Fi

Cons: Just make sure you plug each powerline adapter into the wall outlet, not a surge protector. Otherwise your signal will most likely not connect or will drop out. This isn't really a "Con" of this particular model, it's just a limitation of using this tech.

Other Thoughts: Saved me hundreds of dollars by not having to purchase a proprietary wireless adapter for my Xerox laser printer. The printer must be connected to internet to preserve the life-time warranty, but only comes with an ethernet port. Of course I could have just purchased the optional Xerox wireless adapter for it for only $219.99, but I kinda like this idea better :)
