This TRENDnet Wireless N Router makes it easy to network all the computers in your home or office! Once plugged into your modem, the router offers wireless 802.11b/g/n connectivity for your notebooks, gaming system, and other compatible devices. The 4-port Gigabit Ethernet switch built into the router offers fast wired connections for your printer and desktop computers.

The built-in web interface offers effortless configuration. The included Virtual Server utility makes it easy to configure any connected computer as a web server or FTP server, so the users you specify can have remote access to network content over the Internet. With Quality of Service (QoS) prioritization, you get extra bandwidth when you need it for your VoIP, gaming session, media streaming and other time-sensitive application.

Your network stays safe from hackers with WPA-PSK (TKIP or AES) or WEP encryption; MAC, IP, or Protocol filtering; and an SPI/NAT firewall, which also allows you to limit Internet access. Manage and monitor usage with Remote Management, which lets you make adjustments over the Internet. When it comes to reliability, security, and convenience, the TRENDnet Wireless N router brings it all home!

  • newegg Wi-Fi Certified Compliant with draft 802.11n, the TRENDnet TEW-639GR delivers real-world performance of up to 14X the speed and 6X the coverage of an 802.11g wireless connection while remaining compatible with 802.11g and 802.11b devices.

4 out of 5 eggsTrendnet

Pros: 8 by 1 over wifi - not bad! Works so far, better than earlier model and this one is a refurb gen v1. I would recommend for the price alone! better performing than most commodity routers except airport that you will encounter at big box stores. good inexpensive router back up also for when your old linksys claps out . supports most wifi security encryption protocols. No problem connecting to multiple wifi alliances and computers.

Cons: cheap ethernet ports, lots of play - be careful when attaching 4 ethernet cables. Wifi Range is average to acceptable.

Other Thoughts: over all 3 to 4 eggs for performance and 5 eggs on price and condition of this used product.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat speed

Pros: Replaced a Buffalo N300 that was poor power & connection speed wise.
Connection on this one is great and easy to setup.
Upgrade the firmware when you get it.

Cons: Have not found any yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGotta go Wireless refurbed unit

Pros: Low cost N wireless router with 4 gigabit wired ports and a WAN port for connecting to a DSL or cable modem.. Good signal strength and 3 antennas so you can pattern the RF envelope to suit your structure.. Does not get hot at all and mounts easily to wall.. Excelent thruput..

Cons: NONE except it will not let you change the user name just the password..

Other Thoughts: Got this so my daughter from California with her 4 wireless devices would stop complaining that I don't have access at my house.. I do not fear buying refurbished stuff as long as most reviews don't cry DOA.. Put it in the basement of a good sized ranch style house mounted on a floor joist.. It is a good idea to try to keep it away from power wires and metal objects like duct work.. Keep your CAT5e or CAT6 wires neatly bundled and away from the antennas as well.. I reduced the RF output to 50% and adjusted the antennas so the signal pattern lobed to the far side of the house.. Running it at full power with poor positioning or improper adjusted antennas will just net you more heat and a shorter lifespan of the device without much gain in signal strength.. We pick up 2 neighbors wireless signals but they can't see ours and the cordless house phones are 5ghz so they do not interfear.. My sons device even works in the garage so when he is working on a car he can use his internet music thing.. Kids grumbled because I insisted on a very high level of security and no SSID broadcasting.. Regestered MAC addresses so only access is if it is in the list.. I did check the voltage on the wall wart and have it plugged into a whole house UPS system to prevent it from suffering flickering power corruption of the router.. Our old router thats built into the DSL modem was having trouble with DHCP asignments so it had to go anyway.. Switched the modem into bridged mode via nic address/brgmode.html command.. Yes many setup changes require router reboot but it took me 15 min. max. to get it all done and that included registering 4 MAC addresses..
Always check your devices and compair them to what you want to add and make sure that they have a common security schemes WPA WPA2 as some older stuff will not work with newer stuff..

3 out of 5 eggsPoor Customer Service

Pros: See Cons

but fast shipping though!

Cons: Received without AC Adapter and NIC

Classic Customer Service runaround
in the inability of Newegg and Trendnet
to solve a simple error !

Please send me an AC Adapter and NIC

Other Thoughts: Newegg says call Trendnet for missing parts

Trendnet says call Newegg, it's Newegg responsibility

No further response from Newegg after advising of call to Trendnet.

ONE MONTH later, no resolution

PS:
NO polarity pinout diagram on Router to use a generic 12v/1A adapter

Please send me an AC Adapter and NIC

1 out of 5 eggsNo WAN connection/WiFi limited

Pros: Powered up. Allowed access to admin controls.

Cons: No connection to the internet. Not by WAN nor WiFi. Can't update firmware via wireless.

Other Thoughts: Followed the quick start instructions to the letter several times. Verified my internet connection. Tried suggestions I found on the web. Never saw the internet but could connect to local network. After 3 hours of trying to get a connection I was fed up and reconnected my old BUFFALO router.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Simple to set up and works like it should. Has a very high signal level - a good 10dB better than my old Linksys G. Most of my wireless adapters connect at 135Mbps or higher. The one exception is my phone which connects at 65-75Mbps, probably due to it's limited power.

Cons: No guide to setting the antennas for best signal coverage - and with three you have a lot of possibilities.

Other Thoughts: Really happy it was on sale for the Black Friday/Cyber Monday period.

4 out of 5 eggsN/A

Pros: Works pretty well ONCE YOU FLASH THE FIRMWARE. I was ready to send it back; driving me crazy with the "Internet is now connected" and the "this page can not be displayed" messages. Regard this router as including a free educational experience.

Cons: All and all, nothing to really complain about. We'll see how long it holds up.

1 out of 5 eggsRipped Off

Pros: Don't know

Cons: Shipped without a power supply.

Other Thoughts: This router shipped without a power supply, and when I called Newegg, they told me to call the manufacturer for one. Once I finally got the manufacturer to call me back, they told me to contact Newegg for a replacement! Of course by the time all of the back and forth was done, this router went out of stock. RMA I got didn't have a shipping label, so my experience with Newegg was to say the least not a good one.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking perfect

Pros: So far, it's been great. I disabled the routing functionality and am using it for a switch / wireless AP, and it's perfectly stable, has great range, and is quick.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: No custom firmware support, but stock firmware seems good enough for basic use. Discontinued product according to Trendnet, so don't expect future development.
