1 out of 5 eggsJunk!

Pros: Easy to configure.

Cons: What a piece of junk! Needs to be reset 3 times a day. Completely locks up and takes my internet down. I realize it's cheap, but I didn't expect this. We're running 2 laptops, 1 desktop, 2 ipads, 1 IP camera, 1 Ooma, 1 networked alarm system.

Other Thoughts: I'm an IT professional, currently Director of IT. I have extensive experience with expensive and inexpensive routers. Never before have I seen a router perform this poorly.

Manufacturer Response:

Valued Customer,

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: None

Cons: DOA out of box. Paying shipping back to get a replacement almost as expensive as buying another unit..

5 out of 5 eggsGood Little Wireless Router

Pros: Have been using this for a little over two months and it works great. Solid (no drops) and does what it should for a great price.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Don't expect massive range on the wifi at this price point.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor connection at distance

Pros: Set up, connected, and working within an hour. This is as quick to set up as NetGear, Belkin and D-Link, and far quicker and easy to set up than Linksys ever is. My Linksys-G has periods when it will drop connection and simply refuse to connect again, until later it will arbitrarily reconnect again. I haven't seen this TrendNet-N do this yet.

Cons: With 10Mbps service, this N-router provides 10MBps as well as my existing Linksys-G. But from the far room in the house, TrendNet-N connects only with 2Mbps-7Mpbs where the Linksys-G still connects with 10Mbps. So basically a brand new TrendNet-N router has poorer coverage than a 6yr old Linksys-G router. So what do I do? Send it back?

Other Thoughts: Shame on me for thinking that replacing an aging and tempermental Linksys Wireless-G router with a TrendNet Wireless-N, would provide better coverage and connection. Now I read that the Wireless-N routers don't offer any more coverage than Wireless-G devices, so that's my fault for not doing my reading first.

3 out of 5 eggsLimited range

Pros: It works?

Cons: Very limited range, signal drops off beyond 20-30 ft which kind of makes it pointless for wi-fi. This should work fine for small apartments

Other Thoughts: Got this at a great price to replace an aging D-Link G wireless router. The D-Link had way better range. Spend a little more.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly what I needed

Pros: Supper affordable; cheaper than a few gallons of gas.

Very small, looks sharp.

Easy to set up and configure. A novice can have this up and running in 5 minutes.

Cons: None worth mentioning. It's a $20 router!!!

I am not technical enough to comment on the firmware or using alternate firware. This router works fine for me.
